WhoIs better? Ibelieve ppl mix them up and honestly I do not remember specifics for either from last year. Who has the broken wrists, and who is th one that was always an inch away from breaking up multiple passes last year

also realize that springs may be the one who gets cut and therefore we will keep both these guys which I don't think either is as bad as Hobbs

Wilhite played, Wheatley was usually inactive.

Safe to say Belichick thinks Wilhite is better as the only time Wheatley was allowed on the field was the game that Wilhite had the robbery incident the morning of the game.

Hobbs was unlikeable due to his attitude and getting burned in the Super Bowl, but he was a solid #3 CB who was overexposed as a started. Same goes for Wilhite. Not a bad player, but people hate him because he is forced into a role that plays away from his strengths.

Wheatley is a mystery. He looked good vs the Colts in 2008 before breaking his wrist and filled in adequately for Bodden vs. Atlanta last year but never saw much action after that. His problem is that he doesn't contribute on special teams, so dressing him as your #4 CB is a bit tricky (when that guy usually covers kicks and such). I doubt he makes the opening day roster, although I suspect he will end up finding a role in the league as a decent #2 or 3 guy if he can get/stay healthy

I think wilhite is a # 4 at best. he got burned every drive in the 4th quarter against Houston when he was actually playing. I suppose at least Wheatley hasn't had a chance to suck yet?

I hope we keep Wheatley as the #5; unless that spot goes to Arrington who's a ST demon but although he's listed as a CB I don't think we have a clue if he can actually play there at an NFL level.

Hobbs is better than Wilhite or Wheatley have ever been.

Keep in mind Hobbs was going up against opponents' number one WR, while Wheatley and Wilhite are up against other team's #3 and #4 WR when they occasionally get on the field.

Put it this way: if Hobbs is covering Aiken while Wheatley and Wilhite are covering Moss and Welker, which of those three corners is going to look best?

i remember wilhite covering the #2 reciever agaisnt Indy, and im sure it happened where he covered either the #1 wr at other games, or that he covered other #2 wr's....

he did not always go up against the #3, and #4 wr's of a team...
i would say butler was the 3rd cb for most of the season

and I did not watch the houston game, so cant comment on that

Hobbs was an above average nickelback. That's it. He stunk at corner and all the heart and determination in the world cannot erase this fact. Bill traded him for peanuts while he was basically our only veteran starting cornerback. That alone should tell you all you need to know.

Springs is a decent veteran leader who plays solid press coverage near the goal line. Don't understand why you would assume he would get cut.

And I don't understand how you get Wilhite and Wheatley mixed up either. 2 seconds of google research should help with that. But, I think it has been established that Wilhite is the far better player.

Wilhite has shown some flashes, is surprisingly good in press, has great recovery speed. The thing with him is that he just needs to improve his ball skills. It plagued him in college, and it has plagued him in the pros.

Wheatley = drafted higher, looked good on film but rebroke wrist with metal rod in college, then broke the other wrist, I think and hasn't shown diddly. Mystery man.

Wilhite, thrown in cause no Wheatley, looked good, but last year arm waving, choppy almost there quite often.

Wheatley has to have been injured IMO. Either comes down from the side of the milk carton, or he's gone IMO.

Wilhite, good hustle, choppy, good nickel dime candidate, not regular corner. Reminds me of Hobbs.

If these guys are going to stick, I want to see then killing themselves on special teams like their jobs depended on it, because they just might.
