Except...the Cowboys' actual draft followed the BPA on that chart, exactly.

You're right it did. SunnyDenmark might be right after all. :)

I mean, does it make any sense that they have more guys rated as 1st rounders than second? And that they only have 9 guys rated as 6th rounders and 7 guys rated as 7th rounders?

It makes perfect sense, if you consider that there are two reasons for leaving a guy unrated:

1. He doesn't fit your team/plans.
2. You just didn't pay enough scout salaries and take enough exec/coach time to rate EVERY player.

Note that #2 makes more sense for low-value late-pick kinds of guys than for high-pick ones. E.g., if you get to the 27th pick with all 18 of your 1st-round guys gone, that's baaaaaaad. If you get to the 27th pick of the 7th round and you're not prepared, it's less of a big deal.

And by the way, as there will be more divergence among draft boards at the bottom, if you only have a few 7th round picks rated, you're likely to get one (or somebody you have rated higher).

E.g., supposedly only 2 or 3 teams properly worked out Deaderick.

UPDATE - a few more names have been deciphered:
for a more complete (but far from finished) list see:

Cowboys War Room Pictures: The Draft Board | Dallas Cowboys Times

In all, there are about 119 names on their board. Which is about what we have heard is similar to the total number of players listed in a typical NEP draft board (ie. 100 - 120 as best as I can remember from a Reiss article recently).

If your favorite player isn't on the list - then probably not a scheme fit for Cowboys or dropped from board for medical or character reasons. Example. No mention (that is readable) about Aaron Hernandez TE and either he is on one of those hard to read white printed name tags, OR he could have been dropped from board due to the smoking pot issue.

Would be great if someone has some image software that could clean the shots up to make the name tags readable.

p.s. can add to the list : Washington, D Arz 2-47 . Dallas had him as 3rd round grade at spot #9 -just above McCoy and Taylor Price.

Mine is all tied up right now. Using it to clean up some part pics from my latest Mensa meeting.

Touché Patjew.

I just had a hard time reading through the first few posts - when after finding the 'holy grail' of all drafniks (a NFL teams draft board), the thread response was either: a) disbelief, b) that Jerry was playing 'mock around the clock' or c) non-comprehension of what a draft board contains feks. why are there not 32 names listed on all rounds?

For a while there I thought I was posting on a Jets fan forum. :p

For mostly the same reasons, you can probably understand the skepticism.

Not sure I'd call the Cowboys draft bard the "holy grail", but I understand beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'd certainly call BB's draft board the holy grail. A couple of interesting things to me about it - looks a lot more disorganized than I would expect. Also, there are only 3 Florida Gators on it. Not 1 of the guys we picked, and no Tebow.

Before the draft, Gosselin referred to a linebacker who he knew various teams in the league had rated in every single round, from 1st to undrafted. At the time, I instantly thought of Spikes. I think he could be a terrific addition to the Pats, but for some teams and some schemes, what would you do with him?
