Steve DeOssie said tonight on the 10:00pm comcast NE Sports tonight that it is his understanding that Vrabel will soon be cut by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tanguay claims that Vrabel loved living here and would be interested in a return.

Should the Pats bring back Vrabes? While it has been a few years since he has been a productive linebacker, could he function in a leadership role?

agreed....

In a heartbeat,Yes

He would be our Junior Seau yet still not that old to make a difference in the locker room at least,I loved that guy on this team.

But once again the BB tree comes into effect,If Pioli thinks he is washed up does BB feel it too?

Actually I think it was the other way around. First BB thought he was finished, then Pioli thought that second.

no he is done and he can't be a leader from the side lines we seen that last year with seau,

It would the same situation as it was with Bruschi in last years training camp. Just too old to contribute, but has earned the upmost respect from everyone in the Pats organization and beyond.

Will he come cheap?

There is no reason to think bringing him back would have a negative impact on this team. It's pretty certain that he wouldn't be a full time starter and would provide nothing more than depth to the position. With potentially 2 rookie LBs starting next season it couldn't hurt to have someone around to play mentor.

Given our lack of depth at OLB, I wouldn't be against the Pats letting him compete for a spot, assuming that it was a smaller role. I'm sure that Spikes, McKenzie, and Cunningham could all use some guidance, and right now TBC is the elder statemsman.

Early down run-stuffer role, maybe? I'd rather have him setting the edge than TBC.

I really, really, really wish I thought that bringing back Mike Vrabel made sense (and was possible), but I just don't see it. :(

As DI said, the Chiefs just signed him. If they're cutting him loose that fast -- which I doubt -- it would be because they think he's totally done.

I've be very happy to see Vrabel back in N.E.

Or that they've got more OLB's on their team now than we do

I'd be very happy to have vrable back, one of my all time favourite pats. He can still play situational football.

Love Vrabel for all he did here but he can't play anymore. He was done by the time the playoffs rolled around in 2007.

If the Chiefs are cutting him after he just signed a 2 year extention... Then guess what he is done, he was one of my fav pats, but if that is the case, he is done... I dont think he is getting cut...
