Greetings all from Denmark,

Great draft for all NEP fans. Surprised this news isn't yet up on a thread. Not sure if it should go under Pats Draft section, or under NFL other teams section. I'll let the mods move it....

Without further adeu, local Dallas TV station coverage of the draft shows footage of the Cowboys war room while draft is in progress (looks like 4th round). Shows Jerry Jones and he is running the board. Yes, THAT board! The holy grail of all NFL boards - the rankings of the players and which rounds they determine their value to the Cowboys. How they are stacked. This is legit and as is on You tube from a local TV station -that is free content so I don't see any copyright infringement - but final say obviously is Ians.

Enjoy all you draftniks! P.S. Don't you just love the Internet! Cheers, Sunny

Looking at the still shot this appears to be their mock draft board with who they expected the other teams to draft. NE has Alualu, T 1-10 next to their board, translated it looks like Dallas had Alualu projected to NE at #22, but he was taken in the 1st round, #10 overall. You'll note right above his name is Best, J 1-30, which is where Jahvid Best was taken by Detroit after Minnesota traded down into the second round.

Wouldn't be the first time. I remember a whiteboard photo like this leaked two years ago - it had the CBs ranked, like Rodgers-Cromartie, etc.

I think the plates we see in the picture are those players the Cowboys wanted in each round.

As I can best tell from the photo and the other fans comments in the thread below the story - this is the Stacked draft board of how the players were rated by the 'Boys. First rounders on the far left and other rounds as you move to the right side of the board. And when a player was picked his printed name tag was taken off the board and his name was hand-written on the board followed by the team who took him (teams initials) and what round / overall position.

Patriots are refered to as NE and you can see this best if you look at top of 2nd round (Jerrys' hand and ring are over the 3rd round) top left side of board and see:

McCourty, D. NE 1 - 27

Summary: Cowboys had Devin McCourty rated as their top 2nd rounder. As he was taken by Pats, his printed name plate removed and he was hand written in with the actual draft slot at which he was taken (1 st round - pick 27). This is the board used as the draft progressed so they could see which players were left unchosen and how high they had them rated overall stacked with their round draft grade (not by position).

P.S. You can also see they had Rob Gronk rated as their 14th best 2nd rounder and Taylor Price rated as their 11th best 3rd rounder.

some better still shots of the board:

Now you know, the rest of the story.....

You gotta give a warning if Jerry Jones head is going to be so prominent in a picture. geez:eek:

The one thing that stands out to me in the first image.....

you have the D-bag owner meddling with the draft.

I figured their draft board looked like this:

Rounds 1-7
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant

:D

Quick, close the thread before they fine Belichick $500K and we lose our 1 in 2011.

Agree with Box. this is not the Cowboys' board. It's their mock draft. That's why the names are next to the team names.

On a somewhat related note, I highly recommend watching the video because of the part about the cheerleader swimsuit calendar.

Except...the Cowboys' actual draft followed the BPA on that chart, exactly.

It looks like they have Taylor Price as the 3rd best WR on their board (excluding the names that were blocked of course)

That makes me think the Pats might have made an even better selection than we thought.

Oh, to He11 with it... I'm celebrating anyway :singing:

Are you kidding me! How could the Cowboys mock draft know ahead of time which players would be drafted in their exact position??

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/2371/newwhiteboard.jpg

example. Look above Jerrys wristwatch the handwritten name:

Allen, N Phil 2 - 37
(Nathaniel Allen was drafted by Eagles in round 2 in overall spot 37)

another example: look below Jerrys elbow

Odrik, J Mia 1-28
(Jared Odrik was drafted by Miami Dolphins in round 1 overal spot 28)

Look at the players handwritten names and you will see the EXACT draft spot that they were drafted in. Then also watch the You Tube video (about 7 minutes in and onward) and you will see the Dallas war room while the draft was occuring. The photo was taken during about the 4th round.

But the names on the board top to bottom are NOT how they were drafted (picked) - ergo they are how the Cowboys stacked their board overall as to how they graded them by giving them a round value (1st rounders are on far left side).

What is it exactly that you don't understand about what you are seeing?

P.S. Bucky - were you by any chance on the Zapruder commission and still believe in the single bullet theory?

So what's up with how some of the guys are written and some are printed out? The written ones were already picked?

Also, the one guy under the "P[unter]" heading isn't Mesko.

look only at the photo with Jerry in it.

All the players originally had typed names put on their board STACKED by what round grade the Cowboys had them rated.

As the draft unfolded, when a player was chosen - the printed name was taken off and the players name handwritten into that same slot ALONG with the team that picked him and what spot in the draft. As best I can tell the photo (from the video) was taken about during the 4th round.

SO as the draft occurred they could see what players were left UNCHOSEN (ie. printed names) for consideration of the Cowboys to possibly pick. BPA would be the name tag remaining which is to the farthest left (and if in the same column as another printed name - the you chose the one topmost).

Folks, I don't know how I can spell it out any clearer.

On a side note, I can see that MENSA doesn't need to recruit from this forum.

makes sense dude, dont worry about it too much....

looking at the list in the OP....it doesnt show spikes, cunningham or hernandez...is this b/c we cant see the whole board? no way they were not in the first 5 rounds for the boys right?

Ok, settle down. I was doing like three different things at the time I posted that comment. There just seems like there has to be a much better way to do this.

Kyle Wilson rated 18th best player overall and Mccourtey ranked as a 2nd rounder.

This is just reinforcing my hate of that 1st round special teams ace we got.

Happy with the rest of the draft tho.

Sorry, not familiar with your conspiracy theory reference.

I do realize now the written draft spot next to the names. I actually wondered what they were, but Jerry's bad handwriting thew me off. I see your theory, but I'm still not convinced here. I mean, does it make any sense that they have more guys rated as 1st rounders than second? And that they only have 9 guys rated as 6th rounders and 7 guys rated as 7th rounders?
