McCourty was my pick at #22, so I am happy with him after two trade downs. That said, Dez was very tempting. I really didn't want Dez on the team but talent can temp the devil in us. McCourty helps our ST and gives us 3 CB we should be able to count on.

I like both TE. Unlike Mr. Watson they actually produced - big - in college. I still don't know what it was about Watson but he didn't catch many passes in college either. Honestly I envied the way the Colts could convert every 3rd and 6 whenever they needed to. With just Moss and Welker it was getting impossible for us, these TE should make a tremendous difference; in the red zone and just on run of the mill 3rd downs.

Brandon Spikes - I love you. Just wanted to say that. I really wanted him but never thought we'd use a draft pick high enough to get him so I never really thought about it but the thought of some Spiked Mayo behind Vince REALLY turns me on.

Cunningham, who knows, but we all know that the DE to OLB conversions are a unique group so it's fitting that guessing who we'd want would be uniquely difficult. He seems to have the size/speed combination we need so let's see what he's got.

I like the punter but there are many differing opinions on him so I won't like him for a reason other than "he's not Ken Walter and he's not Chris Hansen" until I see him punt.

I loved the draft time video of Price but I won't love the pick until I see him play. There had been a run on WR before him with Decker, Sanders, Roberts, Williams, LaFell all going within 15 picks before him and I can't help but feel that we took him just to make sure we weren't left out of the WR chase completely.

All 4 late linemen are interesting. Deaderick and Larson especially but they other two seem to have interesting upside too. I think we should take a couple of OL every draft and it's good to see us doing it. With his inexperience at the position Larson, in particular, seems to have more upside than I'd have expected at that spot.

Oh, and getting the Carolina #2 was awesome, of course.

I like the composition of the roster with only LOLB and RDE worrying me. We've gotten rid of bad apples and slackers. At some of the positions of youth we now have what seems like good mentors (Crumpler for the new TE, Holt for the new WR, Mayo for my boyfriend Brandon).

I would have liked a RB but we're fine for this year with the ones we have and RB are largely plug and play so we can get one next year and just put him in. Brady should feel like a kid again this year especially when Welker returns. Holt should be a huge improvement and between Gronk, Hernandez, Tate and Price we should have multiple new and exciting weapons for him.

But most important, we all know this was a toughness and leadership draft. Clearly I wasn't alone in not wanting any more slackers, bad attitudes and general malcontents. We all miss Rodney, Bru, Vrabel, etc, and the likes of Mayo, Spikes, Meriweather, Chung and McCourty seem to have the attitudes to bring those good old days back. The past two drafts and the next one will be the players who play out their first contracts before Tommy retires or is close to retiring, hopefully the are (will be) as good as I think and they'll give Tommy a few more chances at a ring before he rides off into the sunset.
