Re: AD is out! Thomas released today.

Wish I could share the same excitement as some of you. But all this does is confirm the signing was an utter failure and create another need at OLB, an already weak position. I was really hoping he and BB could patch up and the guy would turn it around this season but guess he was really that bad last year. So who's our OLB's now? TBC, Cunningham, Woods, Ninkovich?

Re: AD is out! Thomas released today.

Later you big money, spoiled, has been piece of sh!t.

It will be nice to have 11 people playing on defense again.

Re: AD is out! Thomas released today.

Thank God. I don't care what he does in NY or wherever, I just want stupid Jetson Boy off the team. Our lockerroom is looking better after the draft, this just adds to it.
Speaking of locker rooms, i wouldn't want him poisening the minds of these young kids coming in.

Re: AD is out!

I sort of figured you'd suggest we "sign the beast".
Not this one. Cut the be-atch.

No handshaking? What happened? I missed that storyline. Do tell, Patjew.
I saw him in December at Spain in Warwick, RI. I didn't want to bother him during dinner so when he was leaving I got up and told him I'm a big Pats fan and wished him luck and just wanted to shake his hand. I stuck my hand out and hHe looked at me like I was wearing a Klan mask and kind of huffed and gave me a fist bump instead.

Later I found out that he had been sent home from practice that day for being late! He was drowing his sorrows in margaritas, the woman.

That's exactly the point. We have a good thing going, adding vets like Holt and Crumpler who have reputations as good locker room guys. Vince, Tiny, Mayo, we are building a good thing we don't need this piece of crap in it.

EXACTLY!! I was thinking the same thing. All he did was complain and make excuses. I don't want him anywhere near these guys. I don't care how much talent people think he has. He's is a cancer. He can go spread his poison somewhere else.

-AD was not a bust in year 1 of his deal
-AD was not a bust in year 2 of his deal. He was on pace to have a decent year until he broke his arm
-AD's performance in 2009 was uneven and with that and became more locker room problem (w/o guys like Bru and Colvin to keep him quiet).

I think you are putting too much emphasis on the relationship-aspect of the BB/AD dynamic. Patching things up would never have gotten AD to perform better.

I'm of the mindset that AD is a prima-donna and can't handle the fact that BB and the staff feel that his skills have deteriorated to the point of his inability to perform at the level they need and commensurate with his salary level.

Over/Under is 2 weeks after he signs with his new team when the public bashing of BB will occur. SMY already has the exclusive.

Of course she does. One's PR agent often gets the inside scoop.

Re: AD is out! Thomas released today.

Does he have to go through waivers? If so I hope the Raiders claim him and he gets to wallow with that losing franchises possession for the next 2 years.

Re: AD is out! Thomas released today.

Though I am glad that this chapter is closed, I wish he was packed away as a package deal outside the conference.

Re: AD is out! Thomas released today.

Good news.

Re: AD is out!

GOOD. Not only was he a CRAP player, but he was a JERK about it. That may actually be worse.

Who is Tiny?

Since he was released so soon after the draft leads me to believe they tried to get something, anything for him and couldnt.

Re: AD is out! Thomas released today.

wish it would of been a trade, but goes to who you how not sought after he was. To think the Jets already signed Jason Taylor. Should of been more patient :D

Re: AD is out! Thomas released today.

Thomas' mention of Mike Nolan as one of his former coaches offered another possible reason why the Patriots haven't yet released him. Nolan is now the Dolphins' defensive coordinator; when Thomas hit the free agent market in 2007, Nolan was the head coach in San Francisco and the 49ers and Pats were reportedly the finalists for his services.

The Dolphins are without Joey Porter and could be without Jason Taylor, so they have a need at pass rush, and Thomas knows Nolan's system.

"You don’t become a Super Bowl champion in this business without having character and dignity in what you do for your teammates. We won a Super Bowl without Adalius Thomas. The New England Patriots won three Super Bowls without Adalius Thomas. You’re talking about a guy – great talent, great talent, don’t ever get me wrong – but systematically we had to fit him into our scheme. Now is that discrediting A.D.? No. A.D., we appreciate you. But when you go and you do your own thing, do your own thing. You got your money, you’re with a new team, be with your new team. But when take a shot at men who you claimed you loved to go to war with, I call those (types of guys) cowards. Because if you’ve got something to say privately, you don’t have to go to a newspaper. If you have something to say to a man, speak it."

Re: AD is out! Thomas released today.

He has done nothing to warrant keeping him on the roster. What a bust. Judging by his lack of playmaking skills versus his obvious physical skills he may be just one lazy bastard.
