I'm glad we didn't waste a pick this year on marginal 3-4 DE prospect when next year is stacked with 3-4 DE's.

Cameron Heyward, Ohio State
Adrian Clayborn, Iowa
Marvin Austin, North Carolina
Allen Bailey, Miami

WR & RB are also going to be stacked with blue chippers.

The depth of the 2011 class matches up perfectly with our remaining needs, hmmm coincidence?

So, do any of those "blue-chip" WRs run extensive route-trees in a pro-style offense?

Trade the 2 2nd's, and move up in round 1. Having three 1st round selections the Pats select Clayborn, Ingram, and Baldwin:D Good god would that be insane!

If the Raiders can stink it up, enough to land a top 10 pick, I would love to see Mark Ingram drafted by the Patriots. When was the last time the Patriots had a Heisman Trophy winner?

Also, I'm growing fond of Ryan Williams of Virginia Tech. Seems to have good vision, runs inside, can catch the ball and uses his blockers well. I don't see the type of speed that would make him a blue chip pick and he'll probably be drafted earlier than he should (e.g. Ryan Matthews).

Outside of those two RBs, I don't see any backs that carry the load.

WR is stacked next year.

Even thought I'm a ND fan, I've got my eyes on AJ Green. I'm sure he will drop, as will most the WRs.

I really hope Romeous is around for our 2nd first rounder.

It's all about the receivers.

AJ Green, Julio Jones, Michael Floyd, Jonathan Baldwin.

AKA The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse.

We must draft Baldwin.

Baldwin is probably the worst pick on that short list. Both on the field and off.

I doubt it is a coincidence. But it is pre-planning. This enormous draft class adding to the past two, will need to be absorbed, this season.

When costs for impact rookies come down next year, BB will be into Phase II of his restock/rebuild plan, and ready to stock up on the spice of impact players.

I notice how the typical media clowns are complaining of "errors", and "losing it". They are always just so ignorant.

But just about all the dynastic players are in retirement now; and Bill has been reloading the whole team with good and maybe someday great players, while still winning.

The Defense lost the last three (four) defensive dynastics this past season. Tedy, Mike, and Rodney (and Richard), are gone, but the Pats still played winning, but no longer dominant football. But BB has not gone out of his way to seek superstars, yet. Best to fill-out the Defense and then see where impact spice is needed.

He knows he must deal in quantity first. Now he is letting the quantity season, as it takes about three years together for a squad to jell. For example, the secondary has been rebuilt with 9 youngsters but only Sanders and Meriwether are yet pros in their prime, to join Boddin. All the others are just learning the NFL way.

Even more so for the LB squad. The ILB numbers are only now adequate, and the OLBs have yet to sort themselves out. Meanwhile he patches with older vets. I expect he will use the th Top Ten pick next year for a really fine DE/OLB impact player, as the last piece of the puzzle to complete the new Defense.

The DL was complete, but the could not afford Richard so there is a hole there at RDE, that he is patching with a combo of vets and youngsters. The talent is deep and on paper, fine. Four first round picks for three positions and a few good others for depth too. But replacing a Hall of Famer is difficult. Its easy to see why Damione Lewis and Gerard Warren were signed.

The Pats miss his interior pass rush and his overall ability to make everyone around him better. It would be wonderful, if they can resign him when his contract with the Raiders is finished next year.

Yeah, I suggested that little while ago and was not surprised at all when they passed on Odrick/Carrington/Wooton.

Although I'm hoping Belichick is targeting OLB Robert Quinn, that guy is a beast.

ya I LOVE Quinn as well, with 2 1st & 2nd rounders ( if the raiders pick is top 10 ) he will be able to move to get whatever player he wants.

that raiders pick is destined to be used on D, no way BB takes a WR top 10.

I really don't know jack about any of these guys. But I bet I do come 8 months from now.

:D

my suggestion, get the college football package if you have direcTV

I wasn't commenting on the off field stuff, but even so, it was something and nothing.

If you think Jones is a better prospect, with all his drops, his poor route running, and his tendency to get shut down by mediocre conerbacks, then, well, you're either related to him, or a 'Bama fan ;)

Baldwin consistently dominates corners like Vincent Jackson and even our own #81. Jones does it if someone shoves a rocket up his ass. And I say that having seen around 75% of both players snaps over the last two years and no affinity to any College in the game.

If I could compare the WR's I mentioned to current NFL players it would be something like:

AJ Green - a thin Randy Moss.

Michael Floyd - Larry Fitzgerald.

Julio Jones - Brandon Marshall.

Jonathan Baldwin - Vincent Jackson.

I know you really shouldn't throw those kinds of descriptions and what not around, but they are that good.

Jones hasn't lived up to the hype for sure. But, you can't say he's playing against mediocre cornerbacks in the SEC. If that's so, then Baldwin is playing high school cb's
in the Big East. Alabama doesn't have a sophisticated passing attack either. You can crown Baldwin the 2nd coming, but I'll reserve judgement for another year.

Im a Gator fan, Ive got no love for Bama unless they are playing out of conference. By mediocre Corners you mean Patrick Peterson, Joe Haden and others? Jones plays against the better teams by far. Both are outstanding physical talents but IMO AJ Green>Michael Floyd>Julio Jones>Jonathan Baldwin. No doubt we will have our pick of at least 2 next season:)
