Belichick is NFL's master draft pickpocket

I'm going to go ahead and get out of line for a second.

The Jets are going to win the division.

But that's not the end of the story. The Jets have a good year coming up, but after that, the Patriots dominate the AFC.

I don't think we made any big moves this draft. We didn't take any big players that would take us to the superbowl.
Instead, we buffed up on our draft picks for the next year and filled some holes with some decent players.
I think this team is being rebuilt to remain a dynasty in the next decade.

With as many picks as we have in 2011 and with some major holes at least slightly addressed during this draft, I don't see any other team more ready to win the superbowl... in February 2012.

Who could we of drafted that would take us to the superbowl?

Ah, the jealousy of the media not having a clue as to how the Patriots get things done on draft day is comedic.

They went into Friday with a league-high three second-round selections. They made three, but only one in the spot they owned when the night began. They spun them into more assets and along the way probably duped the Jacksonville Jaguars into footing the tab for the draft room catering.

Nah...they had Carolina spring for it instead of a low round pick to go along with the 2011 2nd rounder ;)

Lol. I guess I worded that wrongly. I see your point.

But with our current players compared to other teams, I don't see us going to the superbowl.
And I don't have much to back this up with, but from what I see, BB is more worried about being a superbowl contender throughout the decade more than being a superbowl contender this season.

Belichick and Kraft seek to make the Patriots the best they can be every year.

What fan could ask for more than that?

Going to and winning the Super Bowl is a crapshoot.

Too many factors to overcome to get there.

If you have a great team year in and year out you'll win more than your share of Lombardi's.

Exactly.

Nice find SVN and well said Kulbir (though don't put the Jest down on the division line in ink just yet ;) ).

That's the beauty of being a patriots fan. We don't need to look like the best team on paper, but we still put up the Ws

Isn't just as important to improve the team long term as well as short term to allow the team best possible chance at winning year in and year out? That's why they do what they do- to improve both now and in the near future, to secure the best chance of winning and keep winning.
