Is tight end still a need? I know BB says Gronk's back is ok, but that has to leave some people concerned. Plus, besides Crumpler and Gronk, who is there on the roster? Would a guy like Pitta make sense? Or Hernandez?

While there are other needs, I wouldn't be surprised to see another TE taken before the draft comes to a close tomorrow.

My preference is to have 3 TE's on the squad, especially given the talent that is still out there.

Gronk and Pitta would be a great combo.

I wouldn't be upset with Hernandez or Pitta being drafted. They're much different TE's than Gronkowski, and would complement him nicely...

Not really sure. Maybe they see something in Myers and Agnone, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't draft anymore TEs. But if I had a choice, I'd like to see them get Nate Byham. Best blocking TE in the draft and would be able to fill Crumpler's role after he leaves. Plus, he won't be expected to make a lot of catches as he'd be blocking most snaps. He's gonna be my binkie tomorrow.

they have a crapload of 7th rounders, so picking one there wouldn't be such a surprise.

The 3rd is usually a one dimensional blocker so we can get one of those (or draft a couple to chose from) in the 5th-7th, or even off the street.

Cuts should produce one of those guys. If we get an extra blocking TE to go along with Crumpler and Gronk, then we should be good to go.

with the drafting of Price it looks like we'll be going 6 WR and 2 TEs. TEs are used to block in a BB offense as we know.

B.O.B. had said (if I can remember correctly) that he wanted the TE to become more of a receiving threat in our offense. If so, Gronk will be running routes just as much, if not more, as he stays in to block.

Meh,There will definately be a JAG TE cut in FA in the next few months...I would pick one up then

I would start looking for another OLB,DT,RB and WR and a Punter as well with the last day picks.

I can see that. Crumpler will be the main blocking TE. Gronk is secondary, but you'd be dumb not to utilize that 6-6 size in the passing attack

Especially with the way he can split he seam. That size is also a valuable target in the red zone.

"Need," maybe not. But when I reviewed the players remaining, TE/HB seemed the richest of all positions. Should be useful players even in the 7th.

2 is a low number for TE + FB on the final 53.

But yeah -- vet cuts, late picks, etc. are likely to suffice.

Gronk and Pitta would be a great combo.

That is exactly what I was going to suggest. Pitta looks like a big, non ***** version of Dallas Clark. And coming from BYU I think he fits the bill for the high character type they have been aggressively searching for this year.

:agree: PSU's Mickey Shuler, solid all-around, and Kent State's Jameson Konz, a smaller, super-athletic H-back type.

If they go another TE give me ****erson. He can play three positions. TE-WR-HBack. I could even see using him as a goaline FB for play action plays.

One more TE in the late rounds (or FA) should be enough. Depends on how much gas Crumpler has left in the tank.

I'd like to see us pick up Konz as the 3rd TE/FB.
