Anyone who saw the fascinating Jon Gruden special with Clausen, Tebow, McCoy, and Bradford, knows why Clausen is dropping. He does not come across well at all. He doesn't seem to have the passion for the game or the leadership qualities of the other 3.
did you all notice that Tebow and his family were all wearing Denver hats after he was selected? Tebow knew he was going to Denver ahead of time. Why else would he have all those hats ready for the camera?

Call me suspicious: I actually think BB and McDaniels were in cahoots a little on this and BB basically got the skinny on Tebow for McDaniels so "Tebow to Denver" wouldn't have been the wall-to-wall story of the last few months. And someone wouldn't swoop in and got Tebow before Denver. I'm just wondering what the quid pro quo will be. I hope it's just not a 3rd.
FTR, I've given Tebow a lot of negative ink the past few months. But I'm glad he ended up in Denver in the 1st. Although I disagree with him on almost everything off the field he seems like a genuinely better person than Clausen.

Well yeah. ESPN showed him on his iphone, then he says a few words to his family and Bronocs hats start getting passed round. Goodall makes the pick a minute later.
Unless what you mean is how did he have the Broncos hats there. I'm pretty sure ESPN bring 32 different sets of hats, just like there's 32 different jerseys for each pick who attends the draft.

I thought Clausen was much more a student of the game than the other 3. McCoy I thought looked particularly bad, Bradford looked quiet and ineffectual and Tebow looked like the Beaver.

How about it being his agent doing it...price for 32 different sets of hats is a drop in the bucket for what he will be making off of him in his contract.

No, I think they had a bunch of different hats, and pulled out the Bronco ones after the pick. You could see him looking at it to make sure he got the right one.
While on the subject of Tebow - Did anyone see that ****** Skip Brainless..I mean Bayless say the if Tim Tebow were QB of the Rams this year that the Rams would have more wins than they would with Bradford?

The agents get the hats. I don't know if they get all 32 or if they just get some for the teams they think the player could go to. Obviously, the Saints and Colts weren't taking him. Thye generally get a feel for who might be taking their client leading up to the draft. It's also possible they made a promise that if he was at such and such a pick they'd jump in and nab him. This happens more than you would think, but especially in the NBA Draft.
I'm sure the NFL or Reebok gives them out for free. After all, I'm sure even if ESPN or the NFL had to be those hats it wasn't going to break their bank accounts to get the "perfect shot".
Explains why they moved up and also might explain why Minnesota moved out of the 1st round a few picks later...he wasn't going to be there at 43, where they probably really wanted to take him at.
