Let's look to improve the offense tonight

Clearly the Pats don't value the OLB/DE prospects as highly as the "experts" so how about looking to improve the offense? IMO we should have selected Dez Bryant last night, but we didn't. However with only 13 offensive prospects going in round 1 there is still plenty of offensive talent on the board.

OL depth is especially strong with Saffold, Brown, Campbell and Ducasse out there.

Let's face reality. We're not going to improve the pass rush overnight on this team with any of the prospects in this draft, so why not improve on the other side of the ball.

Light, Mankins, Koppen, Neal, Vollmer with
Ohrnberger/Connelly and Kaczur/LeVoir as backups.

if you haven't learned by now the Pat's don't draft based on need more often than not they go by value.

If Koa Misi and/or Everson Griffin are avail. at 44, I want Bill to take one of them.

I was OK with a CB at 27 (which was a great job of trading down, BTW, once Pouncey was drafted; we now have a 3rd-rounder plus gained 6 spots in the 4th). I would have chosen the consensus higher-rated Kyle Wilson instead of McCourty, however. Wilson's hands are much better than McCourty's; he also rates higher in coverage & return ability.

There should still be good WRs at 47: Golden Tate, Regus Benn, Damian Williams, and poss. Eric Decker, Andre Roberts, Mardy Gilyard & Taylor Price; and don't forget Runner/Receiver/Returner Dex McCluster. There are so many WRs, in fact, that I would like to see Bill trade down a couple of spots and acquire a 5th-rounder.

53 could go a few ways: McCluster; RB Toby Gerhart, TE Rob Gronk; DE Alex Carrington or Austen Lane; or maybe a LT like Charlie Brown or Bruce Campbell drops.

Both a WR & a Pass-Rusher (esp. a Pass-Rusher) Must be drafted before the end of the 2nd round. No excuses.

The drop off the Bryant to Golden Tate is pretty significant so I wouldn't be trading up for him or any other skill position player for that matter. The strength of the 2nd round will be OL. Obviously I'm a huge McCluster fan, but even I realize that his value is probably early 3rd round. Gronkowski would be great value mid 2nd, but the team sitting just ahead of them at 43rd overall will likely take him.

Wilson returns punts, and we really need a Punt Returner. If McCourty can return punts well, then the diff. btwn the 2 is now mitigated to a degree. But we'll have the next 4 years to see who made the better choice - Bill or Tubby.

well we all thought we had the DBs all set for next year too so ya never know.
