Round Two/Three Hopefuls and Beyond

I give the Patriots an A for round 1. We got a very good CB, with elite production, and elite combine numbers. He needs to work on technique and hands too things that are easily correctable. Mccourty can also be a returner and he blocked 7 punts in college! We also traded down and got a 3rd!

Anyways, here are some guys I would really like to land 2nd/3rd Rd.

1. OLB Eversen Griffen: I have come full circle on this guy. At first I didn't want him at all because I thought he was a lock to go first rd but if he drops to 44 we simply have to take this guy. He had good production this year with 9 sacks and 8.5 TFL. He has Ideal OLB Patriot Size and speed at 6-3 3/8 273 pounds with a 4.66 forty and 32 bench reps #1 at both at DE. He also played in a hybrid 3-4 in college and has experience dropping into coverage and looked decent to me doing it on tape. He can bend the edge on the rush, bull rush the Ot, stack and shed, and he has a good spin move. I have one major concern about him which is that his motor runs hot and cold but I am hopeing Pepper Johnson and Belichick can light a fire up his ass. 2. WR Damien Williams: As Walterfootball says, "best route runner in last 4 years in the draft." This guy gets seperation, runs excellent routes, has good hands, and has some speed and quickness after the catch. I think he will have a better NFL career then Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas. He fits in here perfectly as a #2/3 next year.

3. TE Rob Gronkowski: If we can get a first rd value TE in the second rd we have to do it IF his back checks out as Ok. This guy can catch, block and stretch the field. I think hes similar to a rich mans Kevin Boss.

4. TE Dennis Pitta: Excellent route runner with good hands. Needs to improve blocking but looks like a solid prospect.

5. DE Arthur Jones: This guy could have been a late first/early second if he didnt get hurt his SR year. He has elite strength and is an ideal 5 technique. Has great size and measurables. Will be great vs the run. Doesnt provide an elite pass rush but he has potential to improve.

6. DE Al Woods: Hes huge at 6-4 310 and he has long arms and huge hands. A bit of an underachiever in college but really turned it up SR year. Hes good vs the run but mediocre vs the pass. He still has a lot of upside and should become a much better pro then college player.

7. RB Montario Hardesty: My fav RB in the entire draft. If we can get him in the 3rd/4th we have to do it. This RB class sucks but this guy is very good. He is good catching out of the backfield and good at blitz pickup. Very good inside and outside runner. He has excellent vision and is a one cut runner. Always falls forward and drives the pile. He also gets yards after initial contact. Great spin move.

8. OLB Daniel T'eo Nesheim: An absolute beast. I really want this guy 3rd/4th RD. He is the one guy on this list that I will be pissed if we dont take! This guy has elite production with 30 sacks in college. He is 6-3 263 and his combine numbers were unreal at every drill except the 40 which he ran a 4.81. We need to take this guy as a developmental OLB in the mid to late Rds.

9. C/OG Matt Tennant/Ted Larsen: We need more competition at the interior OL and I think both of these guys couold eventually take over for Neal/Koppen down the line. Both should be available in the 5th rd.

Good list, see bold phrases/words. NE should be treating round two & three just like round one - look for a 3-down player who is a sure thing. I'd consider that for all three prospects where I've bolded a word/phrase.

Well they took a corner/special teams ace 1st round so there are still questions at DE, OLB, WR, and TE. I think they start filling those needs now. Also I agree knowing how Bill likes to move around the draft I think we could trade down later into the second round and pick up a 4th round pick. Right now with the picks we have I would go
