2 posters tabbed McCourty, kudos to bucky and SeauOUCH. (Seau, I'm being generous with your CB "Devin McCourtney.)

Personally, Kareem Jackson was the only player drafted on my board, so all of my dashed dreams still lie ahead.

He was the last cut before I put up my final 12.... :(

At least I have 11 more picks for BB to bypass. :)

New nadir in personal suckitude. So far. Bet I can go lower, though.

Alualu and, of course, Graham (I now officially hate the Eagles) were both on my board for the Pats. As was Kyle Wilson. Not sure why we passed him on to the Jets in favor of McCourty (though McCourty was my second choice at CB). So now I'm fervently hoping that Wilson isn't anywhere near as good as I thought he was.

Yes, I always start feeling a bit vengeful this time of night.

Don't ask.

I just can't believe he took another player in the first round who's name starts with M. I choose 3 players with Ms and missed on everyone.

But what bugs me is that Kyle Wilson would have satisfied the M-W requirement too. Ah, well.

Nice to add a special teams player when the rest of the league is adding starters and immediate impact players

Since none of my binkys ( minus Pitta & Roberts ) are on my list I hope I am very wrong the rest of the way. :D

Like Big Papi I went 0 for 4 on opening night. I still think I got a 3 run dinga in me......or it might be that Mexican food. ;)

This is so weird. I don't know much about Devin and I've seen so many conflicting reports on him. Some people say he's a starting shut down corner while others swear he's nothing but a STer. Which is it! I'm confused to say the least.

If he is a special teamer like another DEVIN we know...Devin Hester...then he is worth the pick

In last night's draft thread, the folks calling him "just a special teamer" generally said it like this: "I'd totally never heard of him, but then somebody on ESPN mentioned he's great on special teams so OMG WE JUST SPENT A FIRST-ROUND PICK ON A SPECIAL TEAMER!!"

Not to worry, McCourty is a CB with very strong all-around skills (though not the ball skills BB usually favors) and a "coach on the field" reputation. Gosselin rated him #24 overall in this draft.

Steve Young especially, but he's Steve Young so who cares.

McCourty is like going on a blind date and you're told "she has a great personality" and you think "great, ONLY a great personality". Then you show up and she's good looking AND has a great personality.

I think the reason people are saying first and foremost that he's a special teamer is because of how great he is at it - both as a gunner and kick blocker. But I think he's also a 3 year starter at CB.

Anyway, I would have preferred to see Hughes or Best at 27 (I hate that Hughes went to the Colts), but as with most of my picks, this one was a hunch based on the combination of the player's skills and intangibles, as well as BB's history. I'd love for some more of those players on my list to end up on the team.
