It's pretty plain and simple people: pass rushers are a media created need that has sky rocketed the stocks of overrated, high gamble prospects that shouldn't be first rounders. Which this draft shows evidence in which such a huge slip of multiple "top tier, pass rushers."

If it wasn't for the media, all of these guys would be picked in rounds 2-7, where they really should go.

Frankly, there are a handful of players in the NFL who can muster one play a game where they physically beat their blocker one on one and get a sack.
For the most part, sacks are schemed. The league has become revolved around short passes. 2-3 sacks a game is a lot, and most come either on breakdowns, or schemes that free up unblocked blitzers.
The real key is being well-rounded on defense and stay out of bad down and distances and get into ones where you can afford to be aggressive.
Of course, having guys with pass rush skills help, but it is tremendously overrated.

Mike Vrabel supports your point.

That said, there are a few guys who do seem to rent space in the opposing backfield.

im not sure if pass rushers are over rated the colts have two of the best in the NFL and still drafted the best pass rusher in the draft in jerry hughes,

but yes you need more then just pass rush you have to have good starting CB's and S's and good dept at DB you all so have to stop the run. witch is why im shocked they passed odrick, 3 times the pats have a lot of NT's and 4-3 DT's on the roster only two. 3-4 DE's and no 4-3 DE's

i look for the pats to draft a DE day 2 im not sure they will draft a OLB untill round 3 or 4
