Unless the Pats LOVE someone when they come up to this pick I can see them trading it for (ideally) a 1st rounder next year and a 3rd or 4th this year. Let's face it BB LOVES to get picks in the future draft. I know they already have the Raiders #1 next year but I still think this is possible. With a rookie cap next year the Pats could have 3 first rounders on the cheap.

I have mixed emotions on that. If this draft is sooo deep then we are positioned nicely to capitalize on that. At some point, we need to weight the value of now (immediate) verse the future. We have holes to fill for sure. If there is value in a trade then so be it.

Let's say the Patriots have 3 first rounders next year, but the rookie cap only starts in 2012. Wouldn;t that be a tough one for BB to choke on for a while?

No, because there'll probably be folks looking to move up in next year's draft.

Stick with getting picks in THIS deep draft...If he wants to trade down a bit from #44 and pick up a 3rd or 4th, I'm fine with that.....

2 first rounders in 2011 is plenty to fill any holes after this season provides a few answers as to what is still needed to become elite again......
