Sergio Kindle?

Mind you, I'm not the biggest college football fan, but why are so many people so high on him? After watching tape on him, it seems to me that Graham and Hughes are better. Does he "fit" our system better? Is it because he's an inch taller? Has he played standing up more than the others? Is he better against the run? Please convince me!

Graham is my No. 1 pick at OLB/DE. I think he has better game tape and is more intelligent and harder working than Kindle.

Graham is shorter than ideal at 6'1. i think many feel that kindle is ready to play immediately. Graham is also slower and hence will probably get to the QB less.

Sergio Kindle is a good player with all around good skills and he has good size. Brandon Graham I think is a better player but he is slightly undersized and has short arms. With shorter arms it will be hard to overpower those big OL with lengthy arms. I think Brandon Graham has the power and finesse to be a good NFL DE/OLB.

Kindle is the guy I want and I think is most likely and it comes down to one word as to why I think he is favourite to be our first pick in the draft if still available at 22.

That word is versatility. We all know how much BB likes versatile players. I think Kindle is going to have a great career, he can play OLB or set the edge on a 4-3. And maybe even set the edge in a 3-4.

Slower? Graham had a much quicker first step, shuttle and 3-cone. Slower at 40 yards, yes. But if a pass-rusher is still running at top speed after 40 yards, unless he's returning a fumble, something has gone seriously haywire.

Graham also has a far superior sustained leg drive and use of leverage, which Kindle doesn't. Graham is also noted for having already developed an array of sophisticated hand/arm moves to quickly disengage blockers both on the outside and on the inside, which Kindle hasn't. In fact, Kindle's ONLY move is to try to outrun the tackle around the corner, which didn't always work in college and will probably work less frequently in the pros.

My guess is that Graham posts about double the number of sacks, hits and pressures that Kindle does.

Kindle played this year standing up, Graham had his hand on the ground the whole year. There are some doubts that Graham could do it, and he has a height issue. To me these are all smoke screens, BB is going TE in round 1 again and we will all be grinding teeth....

If Graham and Kindle are both gone I can definitely see BB grabbing a TE such as Gresham. As we all know, BB has a history of choosing a TE in the first and unless an elite player like CJ Spiller or Dez Bryant falls into our laps at 22, BB may just trade down. There is plenty of good value at tight ends in the later rounds if we trade down. Other Pick options that could surprise us at 22 could be RB Ryan Matthews or OL such as Pouncey. I think this sums up what will happen with our 22nd pick.

I really am not the biggest fan of trading down with 3 2nds. Whoever is of best value at 22 may be the best option.

Too many questions about his bulk/strength, his ability to disengage a blocker, fluidity in coverage If he were a better pass rusher I'd say go for it, but he seems average at best in every category that the Patriots would look for. You don't pick a guy who maxes out as average at #22.

The 22nd pick, if one is made, needs to be an uncompromised fit for the system and a guy with both the athletic ability and college production to make the front office completely comfortable that this is THE GUY. Scouting reports could be wrong, but I don't see Kindle as the guy.

I know you didn't ask me but Derrick Morgan if he magically falls into the Pats range, Daniel Te'o-Nesheim or Greg Hardy in the 3rd or 4th round, Graham and Hughes are very good players but it's unclear whether BB is willing to overlook their lack of size.

I love Morgan as a pass rusher but I dont think he is suited to play standing up at all,

I see him as a strict 4-3 DE. He didn't go into coverage too much at Georgia Tech and the times I've seen him in coverage as well as the coverage drills at the combine shows to me that he's more of a hand in the dirt defensive end. Does not have fluid hips

Have you ever seen the national championship game? Did you not see Alabama run it at Kindle all game long and have HUGE success? Kindle is a third down pass rusher ONLY!

He lacks the courage and passion to play the run.

Did I see the national championship game? haha Ive seen it 3-4 times, its on my Iphone right now. You should go back and watch that game again, Alabama ran away from Kindle or between the tackles for 90% of their yardage. When they did run at Kindle, they used Peek to help with Kindle and still never got the edge for big yardage. Watch the Richardson run specifically, Kindle sets the Edge and the ILB gets WASHED! I have more faith in Kindle than any other OLB prospect in this draft to do the big three 1) set the edge 2) drop into coverage and 3) rush the passer. Brandon Graham can set the edge and rush the passer but who knows how he will do dropping back. Ricky Sapp can rush the passer and hes athletic enough to drop back but doubt he can set the edge and contain.
