Now that we finally have the dates and times, which road games are you planning to go to?

Join Patriots Tailgate to find out about the gatherings/parties/tailgates that we'll be planning for each game.
PatsTG : Patriots Tailgate

If you happen to be local to any of these cities, we would really appreciate some of your local knowledge to help us in organizing the plans.

Mods: I would appreciate it if we could leave this poll in the main forum for a week before moving it into the Road Games forum. Thanks!

Moving to Tampa in July, so I am hoping to get to the Miami game.

I'd kill to get back to SD but every frakin year the Pats road game I want is the weekend of my condo assoc meeting. I hafta go to protect my interests from the bastids.

Well ideally I would be going to Detroit since my brother lives an hour away, but the #@%$* league put that game on Thanksgiving again, so there goes that idea.

My bro and his wife are both doctors (in their residencies) and usually have to work Christmas, so they like to come over this way for Thanksgiving.

I might try to go to Chicago again, but 1) Bears fans are ugly, ugly people, and 2) I don't know anyone down there anymore, unlike last time.

Have done several "road trips" to Buffalo in the past last was in 2007, and for the 3rd year in a row the schedule makers have the Pats in Buffalo between Xmas and New Year's.
Looks like Chicago could be the road game for me this year. Anyone have any experience with difficulty in obtaining tickets, or any feedback if you've been to Soldier Field, places to stay, etc....?

I went in 2000, when both the Pats and Bears were among the least successful teams in the league. Nonetheless, when I tried to buy tickets through the Bears' website, there were no single game tickets available. I'm guessing they were bought up by ticket brokers, because as the season went on, my friend got us four tickets for $100 total (i.e. $25 each) from an Internet broker.

Can't really help you on where to stay, as we stayed at the house of another friend who lived out in the 'burbs. He and his wife have since moved to Norway.

And yes I've been to Soldier Field, but it's been completely redone since then, so I guess I can't help you there either. :bricks: As I understand it, it's basically entirely new except for the location.

There are, however, two things I can tell you. Since the game will be in December, bundle up! The lake effect windchill is terrible. It was even worse than in Green Bay, where I had been to a Packer game just a week or two before. The other thing is that Bears fans are (like I said before) ugly, ugly people. Even though it's the third-largest city in the country, they make the people in Green Bay look downright sophisticated.

I also went to the Pats-Bears game in 2002, but that one was played at the University of Illinois in Champaign because Soldier was being renovated. We stayed at a motel that was clean but I'm pretty sure there were drug deals being made a few doors down.

You know we will be in San Diego with you, Barry.:rocker:

Might be able to make it to the Miami game but who knows this early lol

I am hoping to see the game in Chicago as well. Weekend deals are pretty good in downtown chicago. You can also try McCormick Place (very close to solider field) or Rosemont (CTA ride to downtown) as the last resort. Try priceline.com and bid for a 4 star hotel in these areas; should be available under 100 a night.

Maybe Miami.
We went to San Fran in 2008 and Dallas in 2007- (flew over to Dallas/FW on our honeymoon to see the game.) We usually let the Patriots schedule let us know where we're celebrating our anniversary! :singing:

I think I'm going to UMiami this fall so I'll definitely be at that MNF game if I go.

Very excited to go to the CLE and PIT games, even more so now that I know they are back to back + PIT is SNF prime time.

San Diego! My birthday weekend = pats tix birthday gift to myself.

My fathers cousin just moved outside of detroit...maybe I could get a deal to go out there for the thanksgiving game, that would be rad

Usually I go to Miami but that's doubtful this year since it's on a Monday night; that would mean having to take two days off from work.

I'd like to try to go to the Cleveland game. It's about an 11 hour drive which is not bad and probably the easiest ticket to get.

Moving to San Diego this summer...how fitting the Pats will be coming "home" this October. Count me in!

San Diego maybe, it's about 2 hours from me.

I live in Buffalo so yet again I need to wear my ski outfit to a football game.
That's #1.

I'll see my bro who lives in Manhattan and we'll go to the Jets game.

We do Thanksgiving in Buff every year with friends from Ann Arbor, so maybe we reverse it this year and I catch the Detroit game...

...but since I'm already going to the UConn-Michigan game in September, they might think I'm a football freak and refuse to associate with me again.

So, it looks like 2 games for me with an outside shot at Pittsburgh if I can even find a decently priced ticket.

Debating between San Diego and Miami....anyone got any reasons why I should be swayed by one over the other?

We get a huge turnout of Pats fans in San Diego and all tailgate together right between parking lot section G4 and H4.

Miami gets a great turnout of Pats fans too but we've never been able to get everyone together and organized but believe me I try every year. It's a mystery to me as to why fans in Miami have no interest in getting together with other Pats fans.
