I could see us going after Thomas, he seems to have the measurables BB likes in an OLB.

So, not only do the Jets hurt their running game by getting rid of Jones, now they are going to get rid of the guy who saved the careers of Ferguson and Mangold..

I don't know about that. Mangold is good in his own right. Maybe slightly overrated, but a good OC.

D'Brick, on the other hand. Yeah, he's pretty mediocre.

Thomas, Fanneca has a large salary that could prevent a trade.

I'm skeptical that they would know they're going to do this before they even see what happens in the draft. Sees like getting ahead of oneself, and the information leaking makes the trade value plummet as well.

It makes sense when you consider that Faneca struggled last year, particularly against the pass, and that he is due to make $7.5M.

I just find it surprising because he is considered a team leader and good locker room guy. They are going to need a strong locker room with some of the character risks they have taken.

Why would they release Thomas and Ellis over Gholston? You can't use the salary cap excuse in an uncapped year.

Faneca was the weakest link last year and is overpaid but his presence will be missed. Having five offensive lineman play over 1000 snaps in one season is damn impressive hopefully some of that luck flows this way.

Clearly Ellis and Thomas weren't effective enough at getting after the QB for Rex but provided some decent run defense. Also both players are set to earn just over $3 million dollars this season.

It's about the $$. I wouldn't be surprised to see this come to pass. Wouldn't they want to waive Gholston before Thomas?

So they're releasing 3 guys who started a combined 45 games last year? I'll believe it when I see it.
