Meh.... for the last 2nd rounder maybe... not a huge fan.

Would anyone hear trade a 2nd for Matt Forte?

No thanks. I also heard the Bears were having getting offers no more than around a #5.

The BEST I would do for Olson is our #2 (2c) for Olson and the Bears' #3.

Olsen would be worth a 7th; 6th at best.

Olsen for a 5th is the rumor I heard a few days ago

Take Olsen for a 5th or draft a rookie in the 5th and hope he produces...While Olsen is really not that good, its probably a safer deal than a low round TE

That's what I was thinking..

Or Olsen, their 3rd and a conditional pick next year.. either 3rd or 4th.

Don't want Olsen.
Bears are in a bad position draftpick wise with no 1st or 2nd.
I'd give them one of our seconds for their 3rd this year and a 1st next year though.
Bears have a pretty good chance of remaining bad in 2010.

Frankly, I'd rather have Scheffler.

This deal has been in the works for a long, long time. It seems that we will get Olsen, and they will get a second. The rest has been under discussion for two months.

My guess is that we will get Olsen and their next year's second.

Ack. I hope not!

Those 2 round picks are precious.

Sure, Chicago can have #47 for their 2011 first.

The scary thing is, given that Lovie and Jerry will probably be on the unemployment line if they don't make the playoffs, that trade could actually happen.

i don't think the bears will trade him he was there leading receiver. with 60 rec. and as a fan do we realy want to give up a 2th round pick for a guy that will have 30 rec 400 yerds and 3 TD's brady dose not realy use he's TE's that much.

give me a pass catching FB or TE late in the draft and use that 2th round pick on a OLB

Why? TE in our offense is like the 5th option. Why waste a second rounder for a player that isn't key in our offensive scheme?

This blog post is based on someone's speculation that the Bears will trade up with the Pats only because they have three 2nd rounders and the Pats need a TE. While there have been rumors, I haven't seen any respectable sources come out and say that they have heard this might happen. In fact, the latest news I've read/heard (as has previously been stated) is that the Bears may be willing to take a 4th or 5th round pick in exchange for Olsen.

Personally I just don't see this happening unless it really is for a later round pick since Olsen is primarily a pass-catching TE and the Pats seem to prefer guys who can both pass and catch. Otherwise I think the Pats will be happy selecting someone in the 2nd-5th round range to be the backup TE.

I'm sorry, but anyone wanting to give up a second for Greg Olsen is beyond help. He's a decent threat in the passing game, but nothing more. And he might be the worst blocking TE in the league. I'd draw the line at a sixth.

And anyway - why would we do this when we let Dave Thomas (as good a pass catcher and a better blocker) go for little in return last year, and let Watson walk at the end of the season?

You can draft someone like Dennis Pitta or Andrew Quarless to do the same job and pay them a fifth of what Olsen would want.

i agree but tell that to the 90% of people who have us taking a TE in the 1st/2nd. Personally as a pass catcher i would like olsen with a later round pick... maybe a 4th? think that might be a good deal for us. then again i thought galloway would be great at stretching the field
