I think that there should be posters of these four names on every wall of the patriot war room.

I think the vast majority of us are really hoping that Crable pans out. However, if he so much as has a violent sneeze, he's probably going on IR. It's not really a secret that OLB is a need. I've seen pee-wee teams have a better pass rush than the 2009 Patriots.

Is it a forgone conclusion that AD is history? If Pats keep him for this year, maybe he has something to prove to others that he still has it. If he lollygags around on the field, cut him during the season.

I think the guy has a bit of pride in his play, and he's getting a decent salary.
Taking a cap hit of $4.4M this year and $4.3mil next year doesn't seem like the right business approach. Of course, only BB knows the real story and how AD affects his locker room.

TBC, Woods, Ninko, Crable: aka the Worst 3-4 OLBs in Football.

TBC - nice story last year; overpaid this year (& beyond).
Woods - he's been Dead to me since the SB.
Ninko - should be tried at SILB; I actually feel that he could succeed there.
Chicken Legs - should never, ever have been drafted ahead of Cliff Avril.

Those 4 names instead should read:
Barwin, Avril, Jacob Ford, Mark Anderson.

I think the Man was being facetious, K. I would however like to see Murrell give SILB a try; his ST experience should make him feel somewhat comfortable working through the trash and stacking/shedding.

Yeah, a 3-4 OLB drafted by Pittsburgh in the 3rd round and then acquired by the Patriots could never work out.

Any ideas who? I think it'll be easy to replace Burgess. He was nothing more than a 3rd down pass rusher for us last year. But I don't want to spend a 1st round pick on a 3rd down pass rusher who won't develop into an every down player. I agree those 4 guys aren't strong at all. But drafting college DEs and throwing them on the field right away isn't going to make us better.

It's funny, if you look at Ninkovich's combine numbers and read about how he's a good, play to the whistle effort player you'd put him right in with the second group of LB in this draft. His 40 and 20 were just OK but his 10, cone and shuttle were REALLY good; the latter two were Jerry Hughes good. It shows how tough this drafting thing is, look at Ninko's numbers vs. Ray Edwards and I might take Ninko based on those numbers.

Here's the thing about numbers though. You get those 10 yard splits on every player and you have to wonder how much the human element plays into a difference of .05 seconds - which is quite significant for a 10 or 20 split time. I say they should just line them all up together and have them race. Then they'll be able to compare apples to apples.

It is indeed difficult. Ninkovich turn out OK for a 5th rounder, still in the league as a backup in his 5th year.

There are m,any combinations. Kindle at 22 and Sapp at 53 is one.

Of this group of 4, TBC and Ninko are the best, hands down. Woods is a ST. Crable will be replaced by a draft pick this year.

im not a fan of Ninkovich, as a OLB i think he is more of a back up ILB. woods is god for dept.



crable, has all the talent in the world but will he ever play a snap. for the pats in the regular season. i don't know but if he dose i think he good be a pretty good 3rd down pass rusher.



tully banta-cain, right now is the best and pretty much only pass rusher on this team. can he have the same season he had last year. lets hope so.



the pats need at lest one OLB with the first 4 picks and i would take two. kindle, or hughes, at #22 and ricky sapp, or jason worilds, at #53

I think we have to remember that BB's defense is read and react. So his OLb's have to able to read first.

Not the easiest thing to learn and definitely not the first instinct of many of these guys.

If you are talking 3rd and long, then you want the most sudden guy in this draft coming off the edge. Sapp!

If you are talking 1st and ten, then you want the most solid all around technician. Dunlap!

Most of these other guys (Kindle, Hughes, Graham, etc. etc. etc.) are pretty much just like what we have now, guys with warts.
