Would the Bills trade Lynch for Maroney?!? No way.

No.

I want a fresh start at back,a player frm the draft.

why would buffalo be interested in that trade?

So we trade our made of glass RB for their made of glass RB???

why would buffalo be interested in that trade?

That's hardly the question, which is "would you", not "is it even remotely reasonable to consider" ;)

And to answer the question, yes I would/

I would trade Maroney for a Tuna Sub........even without the lettuce

Marshawn Lynch has burned his bridge with Buffalo and is rumored to be
on the trading block. The Patriots name has even been used as a possible
destination.

They say Lynch currently has 3rd round value.

Further movement possible for Redskins, others - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

I would offer them Maroney & a late round pick for Lynch.
I always liked Lynch, he runs hard.

bahaha.. good one, what, no way, you are serious. Sorry I thought you was being funny.

if it wasnt for his attitude sure
as a football player i like him

umm, yea, lets trade a RB whom we have seen have marinal success here at NE, and have real success when given the ball a lot, yet has been injured a lot for....

another running back who has been injured a lot, has been beat out by the backup at his old team, and alos has substance issues

amazing idea guys, just great

I'm not even starting an argument. I know where I stand and people like PATSFANINPA stand with me, along with the season ticket holders who had applause for when Tedy mentioned impatience at RB. :)

The way I look at it Patsinthesnow is this...we only have to go through another season of mediocrity before he is released, thats why I don't really make a big issue of whether he is on this years team or not......Unless he transforms into his lookalikes,Marion Barber or Steven Jackson,he is not being extended next season...period.

I think adding a player like Ryan Matthews,Ben Tate or someone later like in the 5th round will hopefully be THE #1 guy in 2011 and then and ONLY then can we end this worthless, endless debate on Maroney and move on.

marion barber wasnt much better last year...maybe even the last two years...

Biggest problem with Lynch is he has already had some issues and been suspended for 3 games. If he gets in trouble again he could get suspended for a full year.

Beyond that, I like his talent. I thought he got heavy last year and wasn't as good as his first 2 years in the NFL, but he has a couple of 1,000 yard seasons. He runs real hard and breaks tackles and can catch the ball.

Risky dealing for guys who have a long suspension pending on their next offense, though.

Exactly. What would be the point of that trade? Lynch has no discipline, has been in trouble with the law repeatedly, and is presumably close to a long-term suspension. He's also only ever outproduced Maroney in quantity of carries. And yeah, there's something to be said for showing that you can withstand 250 carries, but I think that has more to do with who they were playing with at QB and WR than the relative talent of the players. In the Pats' offense, Lynch wouldn't have done anything that Maroney hasn't done.

The only thing that Lynch has proven is that two years ago, he could handle 250 carries, which the Pats would never ask him to replicate anyways. So no, I woudln't make a Lynch-Maroney trade, from the Pats perspective. Maroney may not be perfect, but neither is Lynch, and we know that Maroney will show up and play hard and fulfill his role in our system. That's more than you can say for Lynch, and whatever talent gap there may be isn't enough to make up for that.

I wasn't aware that you could release a free agent...

I would take him, even if Maroney is here as expected,I would rather Barber by a mile over Taylor OR Morris

You know what I mean -not re-sign,release,cut,say goodbye ect:....

The difference between cutting and not re-signing is not insignificant. When you cut a guy, it's because he's not worth what you originally agreed to pay him, for whatever reason. Not re-signing him just means that you know that someone else will pay him more than you're willing to. Look at Asante, Law, Watson, Givens, et al: guys who were good Patriots, and who the Pats would have liked to have kept, but someone else wanted them more.
