Which QB will the Pats take this year?

I won't put up a poll for this one, since I don't want to induce nausea.

So, which QB, if any, do you think the Pats will take this year?

Right now, if I had to guess, based on nothing more than a hunch, I'd go with Zac Robinson.

I really like Jarrett Brown from WVU. Great arm strength and pretty good accuracy. I remember watching him in one game where he rolled out to the right and threw a laser like 60 yards down field and hit the WR in stride. I think a few years of studying under Brady and further developing his game would have him ready to take over as a legit starter for Brady sometime down the road. I've seen him projected as a 4th/5th rounder.

I also like Ryan Perriloux, former top QB recruit who was dismissed from LSU. I've only seen limited action of him b/c he's been at Jacksonville St., but his raw tools really impress me. Love his arm strength and his surprisingly good accuracy. Has supposedly buckled down and become a good citizen, maturing at Jax St. I've seen him projected as 7th/UDFA. Why not take a chance on him and hope you strike gold like you did with Cassel and Brady late in the draft? It's doubtful that BB would take this guy due to his off-field issues, but he's got the talent to succeed in the NFL.

I know we've shown interest, but I'm not a big fan of Zac Robinson. Wasn't that impressed with him in college. I'm not a big Hoyer fan after watching him in college, so I hope the Pats take a good & hard look at Brown and Perriloux.

Outside of Kliff Kingsbury, the Patriots have typically drafted QBs with the requisite size, arm strength, and intagibles/toughness, but have some correctable flaws with accuracy and/or mechanics. There has been a recent trend of drafting guys with athleticism. This profile SCREAMS Tim Tebow, but I'd highly doubt that the Pats spend the 1st or 2nd round pick required to take him. Zac Robinson 6’2 ½ 214 lbs. Oklahoma State: Productive college passer with better zip than given credit for when his shoulder is healthy. Is accurate in the short area, is a good decision maker, tough in the pocket and a team leader. Intermediate and deep passes sail on him at times. Comes from a shotgun-based offense. A shorter version of Matt Cassel.

Others to consider would be Jarrett Brown, Jonathan Crompton, Mike Kafka, and super-sleeper Jason Babin of Southeast Louisiana.

Levi had a very good bowl game against Central Michigan and I like his chance in the right system.

Mike Kafka, unless he moves up a little too much. Good arm and size and the Patriots seem to like Big Ten QB. To some extent, anyway, I guess it's a small sample size but, still, with both our current QB being from the Big Ten.

Mike Kafka really impressed me at the East West Shrine Game. He only has one year of experience as a starter in college though. He seems to be a really smart quarterback and can read coverage, but is somewhat limited as an athlet.

I also like Zac Robinson. He was a two year starter for the Cowboys and is pretty athletic, but probably needs some work as a passer reading coverages and going through his progressions.

Jarrett Brown seems to be the physically most gifted quarterback in this draft class and he throws a really nice ball. But he was only a one year starter and needs a lot of work as a passer. He can't handle pressure very well.

I'm Proud to be the first person to say Tim Tebow (NOT IN THE FIRST). The guy is an animal and I wouldn't mind the Pats drafting him. Tebow's a winner not to mention he is a very versitile player that could fill into multiple spots. He has his best chance here at NE.

I really like Zac Robinson alot in the 6th/7th round. He was super productive in college. He had a monster soph and junior years but struggled senior year. He is very accurate and athletic. Hes mobile, he has good footwork, and pocket awareness. I think he makes good reads and has good coverage awareness he just needs to focus on not locking on WRs which is something thats correctable. His deep ball does sail on him but he can throw the deep ball accurately at times like in the Georgia game when Dez Bryant burned Georgia deep.

We have too many needs (OLB, DE, OL, OLB, WR, TE, WR, P...to take a developmental QB before the first comp pick in the 6th. We have no 3rd and a late 4th so a lot of gaps past #53 in which we couldn't make up for squandering that pick on a Tebow project as a QB or TE.

Some of the other players mentioned will go in the 4th or 5th. If we take one that early it will not speak well of the development of our incumbant #2 who was good enough as a rookie UDFA to back Brady up solo. Maybe we take a flyer on a kid like Tim Hiller who projects as a 7-UDFA based on his post ACL senior season... He played his college ball in the Mac conference but at yet another fine Michigan institute of higher education. Maybe it's something in the water there... Played in a pro style offense which is huge, read defenses and took what they gave him which is mandatory here, makes all his reads and progressions, strong enough arm and can make all the throws, was projected as a potential first rounder after his exceptional junior season. Extremely smart 4.0 GPA student and high character marks. Played his last game in his junior season on the torn ACL so he's one tough SOB. He and Tom could compare rehabs. Supposedly signed with same agency that represents the franchise and his agent is Norm Chow's son. Some NFL scout recently compared him to the sleeper that **** Rehbien identified late in the 2000 draft... Others have compared him to Kyle Orton, but as Josh can attest that isn't the end of the world...
