1st round trade scenaios for the Patriots.

What are some of the realistic trade scenarios that the Patriots may do in the first round.

If you have some post them here but be specific as to why it makes sense for the Patriots and why it makes sense for the trading partner

For example: McClain drops past #15 and the Patriots want him. They call SF and offer them #22 and #53 for #17 and 79.
Patritos gain the player that they want and a 3rd round pick + still have 2 2nd rounders. SF still has 2 1st round picks and now has gained a 2nd rounder while giving up a 3rd rounder.

Makes sense for both teams?

Maybe a 2nd thread with Day 2 trade senarios could be started.

Count me in on the Derrick Morgan bandwagon! (Only I'd use 22, 53 and 119 to Tenn for the 16th pick or Tenn.'s 16 + 77 for Pats' 22 + 47).

If you believe Brandt (and I do) there is a lot of talent available from 20-48. There is likely to be a lot of wheeling and dealing. My sweetspot is around 25-35, if the Pats could trade back and get a 3rd rounder or another pick for 2011 then I am ok with it.

As usual, once you get out of the top 5 there is not really anybody I would trade up for. Although the Pats have done this in the past, when they had a pressing need on the D Line they moved up for Warren. OLB is just as big of a whole this year so perhaps they move up to get the player they 'love' or 'over draft' a player they like at 22.

Mankins was 'over drafted' but he would not have been available with their next pick and became a instant starter. So value boards be damned, sometimes you just need a good player that matches your scheme.

Does anyone know the value of the Patritos (not the on from Oaland) 1st round pick in 2011 if they decide to use it in a trade this year.

I'm not advocating that they do, but I don't know the value of that pick. Perhaps it's just what another team thinks it's worth.

BTW, this thread is about are possible trade scenarios- not what we think will happen. Maybe the Vikes at #30 will want to move up to 22. Is that worth them giving us a 3rd round pick or more.

I think Philly would make a good trade partner, they have alot of picks & not so many roster spots so I think they will be wanting to move up.

Trade our #22 ( 780 points ) for Philly's #37 & #70 ( 770 points ). I'd love to have another high 2nd & a high 3rd in this deep draft.

Not sure how it can have a point value, but the trend looks like a second and the next year's first for a team to move back into the first rouind of the current year's draft.

The possible 2 trades that intrigue me is with the #44 pick in 2010 and his next year's 1st, BB might be able to get into the teens of this year's draft. (McClain)

Then he can auction #22 off for a second rounder in 2010 and a 1st rounder in 2011.

In effect we still have 4 of the first 62 picks in this draft and 2 first rounders in 2011.

While i would LOVE to land the Rams 2nd round pick(#33), i'm thinking that it might be the SINGLE most valuable pick in this years draft!

Due to the format of the draft this year, with Round 2 STARTING on Friday night, teams are going to have a LOT longer to regroup and and determine how round 1 went and you KNOW teams are going to be targeting players at the top of round 2 like never before. If i'm the Rams, i'm conceding RIGHT NOW that i'm trading that pick to the highest bidder and let the bidding wars begin.

Although, if there were any players in the late teens beluga would be a good guy to trade up for paradoxically.
