Pats greatest needs...
1) stud DT to replace Seymour, Green, and keep Wilfork on the nose
2) Athletic OLB/DE that gets after it
3) TE that forces Ds to defend
I don't care how BB spends his picks to get this done....get me
1) Odrick
2) Hughes
3) Graham (TE)
If round two ends, and these 3 are on board...I'm good. Graham may be a reach...but the kid has big upside and BB took an unfinished Sea Bass and has a stud future RT. Graham would be a perfect target in the endzone...toss it 12 feet in the air and put 6 on the board. Blocking will come with time
(I would be very happy with a Spiller/Pouncy combo if D didn't matter....I expect we see this form in 2011)

So, we either trade UP to "1A" to get Graham (likely losing a 2nd rounder).
OR, we stay at #22 for either Hughes or Wilson.
OR, we trade out of Round-1 to pick up another 2nd and a 3rd.
At this point (based on this particular "seeding chart"), I'm much more in favor of the second or third options. I might even trade the last 2nd-rounder for a 3rd and a 4th. There's a ton of talent that perfectly fits the Pats' areas of need in the 2nd-5th rounds on that chart.
You are basically talking about replacements/upgrades to
Green
Burgess and Thomas
Watson
and you have not even replaced Welker.

For the record, I am fine with Odrick and Hughes and a TE. However, we also need a wide receiver. Well, that's four and we have four picks in the top 53.

With 8 picks after round 2, I'm sure BB will find a few WRs. Besides, wasn't Welker Jr taken in the SEVENTH round last year
Just wanted to make sure that the chart is free content and not for premium subscribers only.
We had a big uncomfortable incident with the Huddle Report when someone posted premium material. I get PFW's magazine and draft guide so I can't tell if the chart is free content as I have to log in when I go there.
Tried to send a PM to borg but he does not receive them. Can someone confirm that this is free content. I don't want to delete it if it is.

Yes, we have 7 picks in the 6th and 7th rounds. No matter how well we did with Given and Edelman, we cannot count on finding the 2010 repacement for Welker's production in the 6th or 7th round.
And some would argue that we need a WR last year even with Welker and Moss playing. After all, Aiken has lots of reps.
I feel both St Louis and Detroit are in great position on top of round two. Assuming the Rams take Bradford, there will be 6 teams thinking QB in round two with two QBs slotted...Tebow and McCoy. Give these teams an overnight to position themselves...assume Jacksonville is a lock to go for Tebow, and teams may pay up to jump ahead of Tampa, #33 and #34 look prime and expensive. I'm betting one team, probably in the back of round one will get paid handsomely (much more than the value chart) for that 3rd QB slot. Also, Detroit may need to climb to get the OL that preserves Stafford's life. Will BB play ball?

No question they have a late round emphasis on the private workouts we are hearing about.I think the reason BB has said publicly that they have interviewed so many players is because they are working really hard to uncover a gem or two in the seventh round of this draft.
I think the success they have had with the seventh round in the past has led them to a formula for scouring the landscape and finding guys that need a ton of projecting, but if the coaching staff does their homework correctly, the player(s) should project nicely.
