kind of surprised - Gresh is more knowlegable but kind of a fat windbag loudmouth...thats what they are looking for I guess.

The ratings for Tanguay must have sucked.

I don't listen to the mid-day show that often but I didn't think Tanguay was that good.

I can't believe that I am actually saying this but I would have preferred Pete Sheppard over Gresh.

Shep needs to be back on the radio - ORdbag isnt the same without him. Shep with Felger and Assarotti might be intersting radio....

Gresh is really good and works well with Zolak. This is excellent news for football fans but Tanguay was not bad. Gresh and Tanguay seemed to get along great when they were on together so this has got to be a little difficut for Gresh.

The real problem with the Sports Hub was those two clowns in the morning: Toettcher and Rich. I cannot listen to their juvenile chatter; guess I am too old. Then there is Felger the most obnoxious host in NE.

So the upshot is that we will have some real football talk before the draft. Most excellent.

Cannot tolerate Gresch.. he is an absolute idiot. Perhaps he appeals to a different market, than I am in.. but he lost me when he was on the Score in RI...

Yup .... :yeahthat: ... that anyone would listen to and / or like that douchebag Gresh speaks volumes about their acceptance of stupidity over substance. They deserve crap when you're standards are in the toilet.

The people that are driving that station are mostly unprofessional blowhards .... :blahblah: How's that working :confused3:

Not true in my opinion. Don't let his physical appearance color your judgment of him. He is very well spoken and knows football and has actually played (albeit in the trenches at URI). I cannot remember anything idiotic that he every said as far as football except for diss-ing the Patriots immediately after the Seymour pick but so was everyone else in the media. After a day or so he started to warm to the Seymour pick well before the rest the media caught on.

Another thing that is appealing about Gresh is that he is not mean spirited like the Jackals on WEEI (Holley and Ned Flanders being the exception on WEEI and Felger being the exception on The Hub). After listening to Callahan and his nasty rants (and endless baseball drivel) I find Gresh's upbeat football talk very refreshing.

This is great news for football fans.

Has to be a different demographic, one man's premium is another man's dud suds.. Gresch sux, pure and simple.

Interesting how he will go up against Dale and Holley, whom you seem to like..

He does not go against the morning "Man Show" on WEEI...

Gresh has his moments when paired properly. He will dominate Zolak and revert to RI loudmouth blowhard form in a hurry.

Too bad they don't do something with DA, the only legit hosting talent they've mustered to date, beyond slotting him against Mikey in the evenings when he's often pre empted with hockey and Mikey will shortly be largely pre empted by baseball. They could have just swapped Tanguay and DA's time slots, although Gary likely wasn't interested since he then couldn't do his comcast evening gigs. Tanguay is insufferable in his own right, talks down to everyone from co hosts to legit guests as if he believes he's actually got a clue. Probably should have tapped DA for the mid day slot and stuffed Gresh into the PM slot.

Completely agree. Listening to Gresh while driving makes me want to smash my car. I actually think Dale and Holley is the best EEI show and will continue listening to it.

"Tang Gay" got the boot huh?
Guess Perk is gonna have to butcher someone else. :bricks:

As someone mentioned earlier, he is not mean spirited like the rest of the Boston media.
He knows his stuff, more than a general fan but not by that much. He has no contacts and won't provide Pat fans much more thAn we get now with the local media.

I passed on him on the score, the mad dog radio show and will cont to pass on him.

Too bad. As much as I was not the biggest fan of Tanguay, Andy Gresch is one of my two least favorite guys ever to be on Boston Sports Radio. All they have to do now is fire Zolak and replace him with Pete Sheppard and they can complete my Seventh Circle of Hell.

I used to bounce between both shows midday, but I think I will be spending far more time with Dale and Holley.

At least DA is somethign we actually agree on with Boston sports radio. He is probably my favorite host right now and he is relegated to the worst spots on the radio (nights and weekends).

I think he plays it too straight though to counter program Dale and Holley. 98.5 is all about the counterprogramming. Which is good in the spring when WEEI goes over overboard with the baseball coverage which makes 98.5 go heavy on Patriots.

I'd take Gresh 100 times out of 100 over Tanguay. Gresh may be somewhat of a blowhard but he is far more knowledgeable than Tanguay and is good to listen to.

Tanguay out at 98.5 FM - The Boston Globe

Unclear how this impacts the Pats pre-game show that he hosts.

Gresh is in. At least he is a little more knowledgeable about football.

Gresh does know his football, but he's such a loud mouth buffoon, I can't stand listening to him. The fact that they re-signed the morning crew to a multi-year contract is telling - I find the morning show PATHETIC. HATE IT.

To me anyway, Michael Holley is the best thing on Radio right now.

I've nearly stoped listening to sports talk radio. Maybe later when training camp starts...

From lousy to God-awful.

The one BIG problem with Gresh is that he's a Steelers fan and carries it on his sleeve. I get tired of that.

I wonder if Tanguay stays on the television show.
