You know, it's perfectly legal to carry a firearm in your luggage, provided you declare it, have it unloaded, and it is placed in your locked checked baggage. I've carried firearms multiple times with nary a complaint or problem.

However, only Law Enforcement can carry firearms in the cabin and/or in carry-on baggage, and there is a detailed procedure for declaring that which involves forms and ID.

I personally look forward to the day when all firearms laws are struck down, but until then, Rogers ought to have known better. Let's hope he doesn't get any special treatment over this.

Laws or no laws, firearms + cabins that require pressurization = a recipe for disaster.

When was the last time you saw a footballer get into a gun fight? It would probably be cheaper if these guys just hired a bodyguard until they retire. Then they can carry a gun and not worry about the money lost and jail time they are going to get if they mess up.

who would mess with a 350 man anyway?

I didn't see it but I believe the last gun incident involving an actual shooting would be the Marvin Harrison or Plaxico incidents (though only Marvins could be considered a gun fight).

A man with a gun might mess with a rich person if he thought he could make some money regardless of whether he was 100 pounds soaking wet or 350.

Ah, the Barry Switzer Defense...a timeless classic...

Sean Taylor says hi. I don't blame any player for arming himself, but if you're as stupid with your guns as Plaxico and Rogers are, then you deserve whatever you get.

Whenever I've packed my luggage, its always either the toothbrush or the loaded gun that I've forgotten.

I'm surely in the minority, but having those type of guns is kinda ridiculous. If I lived somewhere where I needed to lock my doors (vehicle or home), I'd move.

9mm? Yah, much better to conceal carry a small Sig Saur .38 caliber

It's not that cut and dry for most people. But consider yourself lucky that you don't need to lock your doors at night. It must be nice to live in La La Land.

Growing up in Maine, I never bothered to lock my doors. Even living in Newton, MA I rarely did. It was only when I moved to LA that I started.

That said, I'm very pro-gun rights, and doubly so for famous rich people.

Does he WANT to leave the Browns? If so, this gives new meaning to a player trying to shoot his way out of town.

I wonder if he took any tips from Barry Switzer. What is it about these idiots and their handguns anyway.

Shaun Rogers is another one of these guys who's apparently forgotten he has a brain. I wish someone would remind these guys to use theirs every once in a while. Inexcusable. Or does the guy just want out of Cleveland that bad?

You're right, we'd be much better off if there were zero firearm laws. I'd feel so much better if that was the case when flying, driving during rush hour, going into a bar for a drink, or attending an NFL game as well as the pre and post game tailgate knowing that every person around me could legally be carrying an AA-12 or an AK-47.

i tend to agree....the day when all gun laws are banned are the day they are not needed, which would be the day human beings turn to NON-human beings

seeing that well never change our nature quite in this manner, we will always use guns wrongfully, and thereby we will always have gun laws

good thing too, b/c it seems like ur a logical person, but a drunk with a gun, or a person who has been minorly wronged with a gun are NOT good scenarios

Agree 100%.

What kind of country...no wait...what kind of world do we live in where a football player, accountant, al qaeda or hamas terrorist, etc. is not allowed to put a loaded weapon in his carry-on?

I find your country's fascination with guns most interesting.
