Just happened to catch this little tidbit on the Pittsburgh sports talk radio this morning. Santonio Holmes has been hit with a civil suit, from a woman in Florida who alleges he threw a glass of liquor (glass included) at her face, lacerating her just above the eye, and causing temporary blindness after she refused to leave the "VIP" area of a club.
She flagged down police outside, and tried to get them to reprimand him, but Santonio pulled the whole "I'm an NFL star, and can't afford to get into trouble" The woman was pressured by both Holmes, and police to drop it, but she went to her attorney, and now Holmes is likely facing suspension. He is a repeat offender.
Quite amusing hearing the local media here in Pa. lambasting their own. The whole organization is spiraling out of control. At this rate they'll be fielding an entire team of ps players for opening day after all the suspensions are handed out. LOL!!!:singing:

In a story like this, it's better to just take and wait approach, before you start handing out judgement.

Can we finally put to rest the "honor" of this organization? They are much like the Bengals; both teams draft turds, only the Steelers draft turds that can play football well.

Holmes
Roethlisberger
Harrison
Porter
Burress

Seriously, their draft picks constitute a huge chunk of the league's villains.

I'm shocked....... just terribly shocked.....

Wow! Pittsburgh's off-field problems could undo them before they even hit the field this season. Peter King intimated today that based on what he is hearing about the Roethlisberger case that the Steelers would be very wise to have a legitimate plan b option for QB because there is a real chance that he may miss part or all of the season.

Not particularly good timing by Holmes here. There's already a bit of a microscope on the steelers organization because of Big Ben's issues, so this only serves to intensify. Like Makoute said, it's best to wait to hear more details on this, but this is the last thing the steelers needed.

You just gotta love the steelers off season self destruction this year.

I'm certainly not passing judgement, but this guy's track record is far from stellar. On an additional note, it's not like this woman is trying to get rich quick with this lawsuit she's only going to get 15,000$ max. Granted that's a nice chunk of change, but not enough to just make something like this up, over.

After all the **** steelers fans have given us, it's nice to see them suffer

When people rag on Brady for missing voluntary workouts compare his reasons with that of members of the Steelers.

Roethlisburger to Holmes would beat ANY other QB/WR combo currently in our prisons.

Class organization. Wish we had a team like that rather than a team full of hooligans that run to midfield and imitate the opponent's victory dance.

Heard on the radio that PIT has just signed QB Charlie Bass to a 2 year deal. And that Rthlsbrgr will NOT be at the off season workouts. Stuff's going on...

I assume you mean Charlie Batch. :)

Sea Bass would not approve of the mistake.

Ben Rapistberger and Assaultonio Holmes?

Santonio Holmes confident lawsuit will be taken care of | National Football Post

So now Holmes is saying the matter will be taken care of in the next 24 hours, and also supposedly said 'I can't get in trouble'.

The only way I can see this going away in 24 hours is if he bribes her, er, excuse me, settles out of court. The thing is that won't make a difference to Roger Goodell under the Player Conduct Policy. I'm guessing that since he has been in the news for the wrong reasons more than once previously even a very quick out of court settlement with a provision that she can't talk about it publicly is still going to get him a four game suspension.

Bingo! In his delusional mind it will "be taken care of", but as far as the conduct policy goes that would be a flat out admission of guilt, if he settles out of court. This should be as easy a suspension as Goodell has had to hand down.

Double Bingo!

Big difference between settling with the woman, and tap dancing in front of the Commish. :singing:

Like Ron White says: "you can't fix stupid".
