I like Alex Carrington a lot more than Oderick, throw 20lbs on him and he's almost a physical clone of Richard Seymour, and Carrington is a lot cheaper. I'd trade that #1 pick down a few times, into the early 3rd round, grabbing several picks along the way.

The Patriots always UNDERWHELM us during the draft except for the year they took Mayo. That was a big time shock for once. I see Dan Williams or Ordrick going to the Patriots in round 1.

Just going off what I've heard, Earl Thomas is a top 15 pick, Sapp is late 2nd at the latest, and Spikes still won't get out of the 3rd. I think you're lucky if any of those 3 guys are there

Great draft for the Pats in terms of value but as a previous poster said, some of those guys should not be lasting that long in the real draft.

I'm working off of the assumption that we do a good job trading down that #1 pick and we also pick up a few picks from unloading Maroney and Thomas, they're dead weight so a few more picks is just fine.

Unfortunately we'll probably wind up keeping both of them and they'll continue to suck next year.

If that happens, then the Patriots better be picking up a boatload of 2011 picks, too.

I have to say that the draft falling this way is highly improbable to say the least.

It's also fair to note that you have them trading away Maroney, yet not even bothering to draft another RB in any round (not counting UDFA's) to fill his shoes.:confused2:

We're talking about drafting so I didn't go into FA pickups, I don't see why we can't grab any number of the FA RBs out there and use them for a year or two. I also think the running game and offense in general would be a lot more effective with a solid FB.

I like this draft.

Odrick - fills the single greatest need position on the roster and is a three down player. Not sure if he can start from day one, but if he works hard, maybe he can start some the second half of the year.

Thomas - reminds me a lot of Merriweather and would be a steal in the second round considering most think BP has him pegged for Miami's first round pick. I think he could start from day one alongside Merriweather.

Williams - 1 of the two USC picks and I am not comfortable with players from USC, but maybe BB cuts him some slack considering he spent time in Arkansas. Nice hands, but the USC offensive routes are generally weak and it makes it hard to judge their WR's because of that.

Nashiem - I like a lot at OLB in our defense. Speed and size to play the big nickel. Not that explosive or sudden first step, but with a red shirt year, could start in 2011.

Sapp - I think that with a year of ST and intensive work with Woicik and Patricia Sapp could be a dynamic force by year two. He is sudden and has excellent speed and size. However he lacks instincts and technique. If they coach him up and build him up, he could be fantastic.

Pitta - would be a steal this late in the draft. While his blocking is borderline horrendous, his ability to get open and catch the ball is excellent. He can read defenses and get open like no TE available in this draft.

White - he is the WR equivalent of Pitta, a guy that reads defenses and can get open. He is not a burner per se, but his hands and abaility to get open are exceptional.

Spikes - I think his play grades out to the 5th round, others might see this as too low for him, but MLB that take bad angles have no real shelf life except on ST, where I think he could excel.

Byers - Not sure why we need a 275 pound center. But maybe he will push Orhnsberger.

Brown - as a KR he makes a lot of sense. If he can wrestle Slater's roster spot away from him, then we have upgraded ST's.
