I would love to love to see the Patriots get into the 3rd and 5th rounds of this draft.

There are a few of ways that this could happen. First they could trade AD for either one and/or Maroney for either.

If they cannot trade the players before the draft her are a couple of teams that they could trade with. The Browns have multiple picks in each round and maybe Holmgren might want #53 for #71 and #133. Then there are the Raiders with picks #69 & #134.

Does anyone else have some trade thoughts on how we can get into those rounds?

Well, your idea of trading AD and Maroney for a 5th would only work if we threw in our own 6th. AD is totally worthless in trade value because if his excessive salary and Maroney is nearly worthless because he doesn't provide much of an upgrade for most teams.

I think the best and easiest way to get into the 3rd is moving down from 22 into the 28-32 range. So maybe trading 22 and one of our 7th to the Vikes for 30, 93, and their 5th.

I think we should trade Maroney, AD, and Matt Light and take whatever we get.

I can pretty much guarantee that the Patriots will try to get a three; probably by trading down from 22 in the first round or trading down with one of their 2's. The Patriots hate to have holes like the 3 and 5.

As far as our friend Adalius you can be sure that the Patriots would take almost anything in a trade to get rid of him; the last thing they want to do is cut him and have him end up on the Jets. I am sure that the Patriots would take a 7 for AD. And the Patriots might throw in a 6. Hope he goes to Oakland. Or Buffalo.

Maroney is a totally different issue than AD. The works hard and plays hard so he needs a little more love here.

I dont think you have to worry about salary reasons in an upcapped year. Unless you think there will be a salary cap next year, but it's not looking likely.

I agree Maroney only has value to the Patriots at this point. Especially with the way the rookie RBs have been producing right away the past few years.

Man did Al Davis rip us off with Burgess, win some, lose some.
