Re: Ricky sapp bloggs on private work out with the patriots.

owww, a 6 hr workout by the pats, and a 40min one by the eagles??? does that mean anything?

Re: Ricky sapp bloggs on private work out with the patriots.

shouldn't the status of a private workout stay in private. 1 question do NFL teams have to make it known who they are working out?? If not...... this whole private BS is a one way street. Privacy should work both ways.

misdirection perhaps?

Re: Ricky sapp bloggs on private work out with the patriots.

Remember a similar incident a couple of years ago, when Ivan Fears, worked out a RB on the west coast.. the RB reported a similar report, and it closely parallels this one.

loose lips, sink ships

Re: Ricky sapp bloggs on private work out with the patriots.

If the Pats asked him to keep the interview and workout confidential, then his blogging about it is not going to win him any points.

For anyone interested in more opinions on Sapp, there's a 40-comment thread in the Draft Forum.

Re: Ricky sapp bloggs on private work out with the patriots.

The knowledge of the workout itself is common. But I dont see anything said by the player that was very revealing other than the extent of time, which doesnt necessarily mean anything other than our team is just thorough in its examinations. I dont see Sapp as an ideal fit, though his skill set and size do seem similar to Colvin. Personally, I like Hughes better than Sapp, and if we were to take one of them in the 1st, Id just rather it be someone other than Sapp. In the 2nd, Id be all for it.

We can only hope:

Question: Were there any players that you tried to style your game after coming up?

Sapp Says: “Yes, my whole career I always looked up to Dwight Freeney and tried to compare my pass rush abilities to his. His quick first step and his motor is something I always tried to imitate!”

Re: Ricky sapp bloggs on private work out with the patriots.

Where's the problem with Sapp's comments?

Every man and his dog knew we were doing a private work-out with him and Conner.

He's done or said nothing wrong.

Re: Ricky sapp bloggs on private work out with the patriots.

Agreed. I don't see anything wrong with his comments.

Respects,

Re: Ricky sapp bloggs on private work out with the patriots.

What stood out to me was his Height and speed, 6-4, 4.66 40. Long arms too. Thats the body type there looking for.

the eagels just want him to be a 3rd down pass rushing DE

BB wants him to set the edge stop the run cover TE's and RB's and rush the QB

nothing is wrong..... I am confused by the term "private" and the workouts had and the ppl involved in them etc....

Sapp did nothing wrong

What happens in New England,Stays in New England,Sapp should have kept quiet on his experience with the private workout.

That is probably a nail on his coffin to become a Patriot - BB likes silence from his players, let alone a player who is not even drafted yet.

Sapp probably will not be coming here

shawn crable, 6-5 4.64 40. time.

not that it means much but if they do pick sapp i hope he becomes a good football player

LOL, what? Sapp's workout was public knowledge.

Was the fact that the workout lasted 6 hours suddenly top secret information that will negatively affect the Pats IN ANY FEASIBLE WAY? Get real now.

That's kind of what I was implying.... but the Pat's could use this tactic to mislead teams. I am pissed that they use the term "private".

"Workout" alone would suffice

Eg. Pats have a workout for Wes Welker

No it wasn't negative, but I believe this was the first player to acknowledge anything from the team's private workouts as of yet.

But I think the team frowns on just about ANYTHING that is on Twitter or other media based stuff relating to the team and its methods.

Ask BB of how much he would rather tell the media to go fu(k themselves than have to go to the podium after every game and we all know how much info he gives to the media on things like injuries and player misconducts, this team is as private as it gets.

 The only "revealing" thing is that he spent six hours with the Pats- that's it. It's hardly news that the Pats are looking to improve their pass rush.

Nobody in the NFL can possibly think "oh, wow, the Pats looked at a 3-4 OLB conversion project. That's amazing". It would be more amazing if they didn't look at OLBs/3-4 linemen.
