I would argue for placing priority on RB. We really need to take the pressure off Brady. These days other teams are just zeroing on Brady. Their D sets don't even respect our running game, and rightfully so.

This team's biggest needs are at DE, multiple LB positions and/or roles, WR and TE. There's also more need for an OG than an RB. Drafting a running back high in this draft would be a poor use of available resources.

I put more blame on the offensive playcalling. I think the Pats were way to predictable last season. I think we could use a fresh face at RB, but I dont see a big difference with whats out there right now. FA is slim, and is there a huge difference with a 1st rounder (Spiller or Mathews) and a mid rounder (Tate)?

Obviously the way the draft goes would change this but if it all fell and we could have our choice of need at any pick I would want

1st RD a RB to take pressure off Brady and the WRs and to kill clock in the 4th so protecting the lead in the fourth doesn't fall only on the D. I have my heart set on Ryan Matthews.

1st 2nd RDer a OLB we need an OLB who can produce a pass rush

2nd 2nd RDer a 5-technique D-linemen

3rd 2nd RDer a OLB We need an OLB who can produce a pass rush. we need this so bad I say try twice there are 2 starting OLBs and in our best days we had 3 or 4 guys who could play well at OLB.

1st 4th RDer WR or TE - something that can be a pass catching option. I don't think the need here is for some outrages talent like many thought we needed Boldin but we do need something because we have a lot of question marks at the position between Welkers injury and Tate's developement and not having a back up to Crumpler.

I'd be extremely happy with this draft. If TE Gronkowski was avaliable at #53, I'd go with him over Pita. Both Odrick and Sapp are questionable at the spots you have them. Very possible both could be gone. But also possible they will still be there.

I agree with your assesment except I wouldn't go with Best RB at 22 I really only want Matthews as far as a RB in the first but he is the player in this draft that we can resonably get that I want the most.

#22 - Jared Odrick. Truly a beast that is good against the run and can get to the QB. While I think you could possibly trade down to a late first and still acquire him, I would not fu*k around with that scenario. Anyone from the Cowboys, Jets, Colts, or Chargers could get him. IMO, stay put on this pick, he is DEFINITELY worth it.

#44 - Jerry Hughes. While he doesn't possess the height that Bill wants, he is an excellent pass rusher, something we haven't had in a while.

#47 - Damian Williams. All around great receiver. Could eventually be Moss' successor and would provide another weapon for Brady (Moss, Welker, Edelman, Tate, Williams = sick)

#53 - (Trade) Greg Olsen. Chicago is pretty desperate for draft picks since they don't happen to have any in the first 3 rounds, so getting Olsen with this pick would be a steal. Has a pretty affordable contract, another deadly slot/outside guy, and is vastly better than any TE you could get in Round 2 or the entire draft for that matter. First round talent for a second round pick. Sold!

That's how I would use our first four picks.
