Brady to stay in Los Angeles during voluntary offseason workouts

Re: Brady to stay in Los Angeles during offseason workouts

I guess you missed the National Championships and Heisman Trophy he won as QB. If anyone has the desire to succeed it's Tebow, he did a great job cleaning up his throwing motion and will continue to improve and be the hardest worker on the team.

May I also point out that Cassel stunk when he initially took over for Brady but he developed into a fine QB by the end of the season, there is no reason why Tebow cannot develop as well.

FWIW On Sirius Radio today Jim Miller (a former Pats QB) said Tebow still has a horrid motion of throwing mechanics and he would not be surprised to see him drafted in the 6th round...he was not kidding

While I think Tebow will go in the 2nd round to the Bills,he might be drafted for another position.

This reminds me of when Wilfork didn't show up to voluntary OTAs last year and some in of media, including ESPN, called him a "holdout." He's still working out in LA so it's not like he isn't focused on football, and as long as he's there when it's mandatory this isn't a problem.

Re: Brady to stay in Los Angeles during offseason workouts

Tebow could be drafted here as our next fullback or Tight End,A QB he is not

Yeah thanks I was joking...you know replace one of the greatest QBs of all time with a guy who people don't even think can play QB.

He still dips the ball prior to planting, still loops the ball, which you can get away with at the collegiate level, but not in the pros where the speed is much faster.

If he is drafted by a smart team, he'll be converted to TE, most likely.

Brady will never be better than Manning unless he can this work ethic thing straightened out?

Oh man, this one's going to get good.

Hey FTW ,You are not far from where he is,go and take some pictures,OK?

Right on- my athlete exposure right now is more or less limited to Sasha Vujacic living really close to me . Hunting down Brady seems like a good respite

NFL Videos: Florida pro day report

Are we talking about the same person? His mechanics don't look horrible at all, and it's not as though he won't still improve.

Cassel didn't stink when he initially took over for Brady. He didn't stink when he was drafted in the 7th round, either. Is there a National Champion Heisman QB in the last 20 years not named Palmer who amounted to anyting?? Last QB from Florida to win the Heisman was the immortal Danny Wuerffel...

Oh sure, Cassel was the model for an NFL QB during the preseason and early on during the season:rolleyes:

Go back and look at the comments on this board, he was disliked overwhelmingly and he certainly didn't instill any confidence that he could handle the position but matured in fine style.

Ok, so because Danny Wuerffel wasn't good therefore Tebow will also fail? There's some fine logic.

If you check out scouting reports of the better NFL QBs today you'll find that many of them were trashed by scouts and evaluators but they managed to succeed. Even someone like Phillip Rivers, who still has mechanics issues, is able to get the job done in spite of his poor mechanics.

It seems to me that many people here are simply threatened by Tebow and fear that he may eventually unseat Brady.

I,m a huge fan of Brady. But what we were missing most last year was
leadership. Wilfork,Bodden, TBC have all made it a point to talk about more leadership this coming season. Tom has had plenty of time off this offseason
to do all the family stuff. But if he still has the hunger, he better get to Foxboro. We were all pretty mad that Adalius did not show. The same rules for Brady. We need to get back to the blue collar mentality, with everyone being held responsible.

Cassel didn't have to relearn how to throw a football after doing it improperly for years. Is it possible that Tebow might succeed? Yeah, but the odds are already stacked heavily against any college QB trying to make the leap, and that just compounds it. I want him to succeed, and I definitely think that it's possible, but he has major issues that he needs to work out if he wants to have any success at the pro level.

Having an overly long delivery is a huge flaw in an NFL QB. At best, you're looking at someone like Randall Cunningham, who had a cannon and was super athletic, but was highly exploitable because he just couldn't get rid of the ball fast enough. That's the recipe for 70 fumbles in 6 years.

Brady is obviously disappointed that the Pats missed out on Boldin...

Brady's not here? That's it! He's done to me. Let's draft Tebow and get back to our winning ways! :bricks:

It does show us though he could possibly have 2-3 years left before he wants family time. Nothing wrong with that, just the cold hard facts.

Yeah, it would just suck if Brady retires soon and Tebow is a real good QB. That would just kill Pats fans everywhere...WTF is your line of thinking there? That's like saying fans would rather see the team decline than improve if need be. I just don't see how in 4 months Tebow is going to posess the proper throwing mechanics when he didn't for 4 years in college. I love Tebow, he's a Florida boy and he's a tough SOB. But that doesn't mean I'm going to blind myself thinking he'd be a great NFL QB.
