I have a twitter account and follow many media members as well as some Patriot players. I must say, reading some of the players "twits" has me concerned for the season. Immature, unfocused. I know, I know, it's off season. But when Butler and Bodden go out 'tll 2:00 am and Butler "twits" that he hopes 2day's practice is "an off day" - I have a problem with it.

Twitter is the worst technological buzz invention to happen to this world in my lifetime. We now have access to information we shouldn't, and we're trying to read between the lines of 140 character "tweets".

Ever have a text message argument? NEVER ends well, because you can't possibly communicate effectively in short text only. Let's not start worrying about the upcoming season based on a few lines of afterthought sent out by a 22 year old kid... please?

...I guess I agree. However, after reading some scribes saying that the defense (especially the secondary) lacked the killer edge this past season....and that Springs was part of the problem.....and reading that Bodden thinks Springs is the funniest guy on the team.....well, yah, I guess YOU ARE RIGHT.

I miss Vrable, Harrison, Bruschi...badly.

That is slightly unfair.

Out in Boston wit @LeighBodden .

Was a great night wit my man @dariusbutler28

Tomm is an off day luckily

Doesn't exactly scream immature and unfocused, imo. Expecting young men to stay in every night is expecting way too much.

In fact, spin it the other way. It's good to see members of the secondary out bonding with each other. Maybe that will lead to some good chemistry in their 2nd season, blah blah blah.

Either way, speculating based on twitter is really unwise.

Indeed. Off-season, let them enjoy themselves.

Even more so as Butler was, according to the Herald, the first guy there for these mandatories.

Maybe I am getting too old, but I find Twitter stupid. Except for a few exceptions, I don't need to know everyone's random thoughts.

As for players Twittering, players are conducting their lives the same way they did before Twitter. We just know about it more because of it. If Bodden and Bulter are out drinking until 2AM and Twittering about it now, they would be still out until 2AM drinking without Twitter.

Just imagine if Babe Ruth or Wilt Chamberlain had had twitters...

BRuth60: Finishing this beer, then game in 15 minutes...

WiltC100: 1456... wait, make that 1457 too...

How about OJ:

KillerJuice32: Just killed Nicole and her boyfriend... Damn, where did I put that glove

It is five MONTHS until the season starts; get a grip!

Butler arrived the first day at 6:12 AM for VOLUNTARY workouts. He and his opposite starting corner are talking to each other all day and night.

Players are enjoying the offseason.

Um, these guys are paid to PLAY FOOTBALL. I don't want to hear no crap about bonding, enjoying themselves, thier families, getting degrees, ect. You have your whole lives after football to worry about that stupid sh!t.

What are these guys doing on Twitter, anyways? The season starts in a mere 6 months...shouldn't they be studying the playbook? God, what a waste of money Bodden was, can we cut him to send a message to the other players? And don't get me started on that BUST Darius Butler. He was drafted by the Patriots for God's sakes...if he isn't ready to paly by week 1 he is garbage. Our front office sucks. Belichick is pread too thin. WHY DIDN'T WE SIGN PEPPERS, DANSBY, ROLLE, BOLDIN, TO, AND INCOGNITO? TOM BRADY IS SUPER ANGRY!

(sorry, I am just trying to keep up with the tone of most of the other threads on here)

as long as they're not bonding in a brokeback kind of way

For a very split second, I thought you were serious...

He wasn't hoping it was an off day, he was glad it was an off day. I doubt they rock out at night when they have a big day ahead. We're all rooting for these guys to become our #1 and #2. I hope they go out there and kill it and that bonding is huge. The more you get to know someone, the more you can guess their instincts. You guys worry too much.

Another day another overreaction...this is really getting old.

This is not a case of the evilness that is twitter though, this is a case of a fan having unreal fanatical ideas about how players should be robots and not human beings.

Twitter=Drama

such a waste...... over 1/2 of what is posted is useless and ppl feel they must share their daily happenings or current situations with the world.

No I don't care if you are golfing and on Hole 17 and 4 under par. My God, if you wanna write your daily happenings.

Keep a JOURNAL or something.

I'm convinced Twitter is 100% EGO driven
