I'm the only one in this thread that thinks this would be a terrible draft.
Pretty much, yes
#22 Jared Odrick - more like the next Adam Carriker. Remember how many people on this board wanted him? As many teams exhibit, you don't need to draft 3-4 DE's early in the draft. You can always find a serviceable DE later in the draft. The Pats have overvalued DE's as this team needs rushers. If they take a DE with their 1st pick, the Pats are officially insane.
The pass rush has as much to do with having a good front as it does having good LB play. Green couldn't do it, and Wright is not a full time starter. There are very few 3-4 DEs in this draft, and Odrick would be an ideal fit. BB values his DL play, that is why he has taken 3 of them in the 1st round, and will probably do it again. He must be insane.
#44 Jermaine Gresham - has anybody still not learned their lesson from Brandon Tate? This team is not in a position to take a chance on injured players this early in the draft. And why the hell would you want to take a TE early when the Pats never throw to them? Again, you can find a serviceable TE later in the draft.
I'm not real big on this pick either, but with only 2 udfa-PS guyson the roster they are probably going to draft at least one.
#47 Rick Sapp - This pick is okay but it's far too late. I don't want to rely on a mid-late 2nd pick to be the savior of the pass rush. I don't want to see Shawn Crable 2.0. Their first pick needs to be on a rush LB. End of story.
We'll have to agree to disagree on this. I see DL as more important than OLB. But you also can't pick what isn't available.
#52 Mardy Gilyard - I have no idea who this guy is but the idea is right. If the Pats go offense with one of their 1st 4 picks, the Pats should take either a RB, WR, or OT.
