OT: Brady Quinn to the Broncos

I do find it an odd trade. But like has been said, JMcD must think he can get something out of BQ.

Also, 49ers have traded Shaun Hill to the Lions.

Huge mistake? Not like he traded 2 second rounders for him.

Kamerion Wimbley has also been traded —— To Oakland.

Where did you see about Wimbley?

EDIT: Just got the tweet from Schefter on this..

Looks like Holmgren is blowing up the Browns and starting with players he knows well..

Delhomme and Walace aren't great, but Anderson and Quinn were Horrible. I would take Hoyer over both.

Damn I wanted Pats to kick tires on Peyton Hillis.

Why? They gave up a fullback and two 6th round picks for a young QB who could have some serious upside on a competent offense. Where's the risk? McDaniels knows QBs.

He may know his quarterbacks, but he should have better guys at the position than Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn (whose accuracy is HORRIBLE, something you can't teach).

The Browns O-line was horrible.. Hard to be a good QB when you have that for a line...

And they really don't have any receivers to speak of.. At TE or at WR..

From what I saw, they had a large issue with the play-calling until they just started giving the ball to Harrison.

What part of the line is awful? They have an all-pro in Joe Thomas, so if they pick a franchise OL at #5, that should be set. They do need a WR. Massaqoui looks promising. Rest draft defense.

If they have a good draft and sign a WR, te Broens could be the annual "surprise" team. (2009 Bengals, 2008 Dolphins/falcons, etc.)

I think that Quinn could shine in McDaniels offense.

He's entering his 4th season, if he can be anything like he was in College, Josh will get it out of him in that system.

I think this is a steal, as opposed to a mistake for the Bronco's. Hillis is certainly replacable, and the late picks are camp fodder the vast majority of the time. In Quinn, the Broncos get a 1st round talent, who's struggled with one of, if not the most, talentless offenses in the league. This is a low risk, high reward move for the Broncos.

If you consider Cutler better than I guess your right ;)

Something else that is interesting. Schefter just tweeted that Quinn wanted out of Cleveland and is happy to be gone..

I think that Quinn will have a chip on his shoulder and be out to prove that he wasn't the issue in Cleveland.

I still can't believe that Mangini is still the coach there. I don't understand what Holmgren is thinking with that lack of a move..

I like it for Denver too. I'm not sold on Quinn but they gave up a totally replaceable RB and late picks. Well worth the shot. And although I'm not sold on Quinn he may be their best QB right now.

All Denver gave up was Peyton Hillis and some late round picks. Hillis is a talented fullback but he's still that, JUST a fullback. Josh obviously believes that he can salvage Quinn, or he wouldn't make this move. Even if it doesn't work out, he didn't lose much. And you have to admit that Quinn has more upside than Kyle Orton.

i think this could put denver into the playoffs if everyone gels nicely...d%#*!@t

Excellent move by the Broncos. They give up little in return for a possible Franchise QB.

Quinn excelled in the same system that McKid is running.....

He'll have Quinn dumping off to Moreno and throwing 7 yard crossing patterns all day long. If there is one system Brady Quinn can excel in, it's McDaniels. Good trade for every party involved.

Wow, I don't know what to say. Unless Quinn is going there to be the back-up, I think McDaniels just made a huge mistake.

Huge mistake? Josh traded a couple sixth rounders and a fullback (dime a dozen) for a former first round draft choice that might turn into a good player in the right system.

Delhomme was the worst starting QB other than Russel and that was with a stud WR and a great running game. Yeah, Quinn and Anderson were bad but Delhomme is HORRIBLE.
