I'm reading Lindy's draft guide, which I consider the best of the magazine guides.

Their write up on Cunningham says that he is not a good DE prospect. But they feel that he will "break the trend of highly touted Florida pass rushers who end up to be NFL disappointments ( Harvey & Moss)" and is a better OLB pass rush prospect. They have him ranked as a 4th round prospect.

Does anyone have other info on this guy?

Cunningham is always around the ball. I have never believed in UF players, especially those measurable freaks like Moss, Harvey, C.Jackson, etc. For that matter I am not that high on Spikes but he is a good player. Cunningham just doesnt seem to come off the field, always around the ball, and one of those that could be the "leader type". He has played well in big games and his measurables are why they dont think he can play DE on the next level. I think he can play LB, not sure if he fits ILB or OLB on this team. I really think he will not only make whatever team drafts him, but is almost a sure thing to outplay his draft position.

When Watching Harvey two years ago, Cunningham was always the one flashing on tape. He seems like a 3rd round guy in this years draft, so I haven't studied him as much as he doesn't seem likely to go in the 2nd and seems even less likely to be available late in round 4.

He has great size. 6'3, 266 which makes me think he could play in both run & pass situations. If he can be drafted in the late 3rd or 4th he could come in to play special teams and work himself into the rotation. This wouldn't be the worst pick in the world, he is likely better than Woods and Ninkovich by the end of year 1.

Good prospect football wises, but attached is all you need to know. I'm thinking Belichick won't like this:

Florida starting defensive end Jermaine Cunningham's arrest for misdemeanor battery early Wednesday morning has put his status for the Jan. 1 Capital One Bowl in limbo.
Cunningham and former UF linebacker Jonathan Demps were arrested for allegedly hitting a restaurant worker with a sandwich and empty cups during a verbal altercation over a bag of chips.

So, two-and-a-half years ago, as a sophomore, he threw a sammich and some EMPTY paper cups at a guy? Oooh! Now THERE'S a real "bad boy"!!

Of course, it all depends on the caliber of the sammich.

;)

According to his NFL and ESPN profiles, the major negative thing that they say is his instincts are "adequate" and "note elite". He seems to have the right measurables for the position - ht, wt, arm length, speed. Add him to the long list of legit DE converts to OLB. Right now, the list looks like this (in no particular order):

Graham, Gibson, Hughes, Kindle, Cunningham, Misi, Worilds, Sapp, Morgan, Griffen.

All 9 of these guys will probably be gone within the first 80 picks. Then there are the more "questionable" prospects like Teo, Selvie, Witten, Moats, etc.

 Those sandwich and empty cup fights can be brutal. Need to keep him away from 5 Guys Burgers and Fries if the Patriots draft him.

Patriot or not if I see him throw a Five Guys burger he has to be taken down. Yes that's how good they are.

The point is that in a draft with as many talented defensive players as this one, we don't need to waste a draft pick on a no mind!
