Faulk is raising a niece and a nephew?

Kevin Faulk had no interest in leaving the New England Patriots - ESPN Boston

When Faulk walks in the front door of his home each day, he's welcomed by his three kids -- Tanasha, Kevin III and Kevione, who are 15, 13 and 8 -- and his 9-year-old niece and 7-year-old nephew.

He's a very impressive individual, both on and off the field. It really shows what his priorities are in life.

After reading that story, if Bill ever pulled what he did with Vrabel/Seymour with Faulk, i would be majorly pissed.

Great guy and one of my favourite Patriots.

I have a feeling it will be more like Bruschi and Troy Brown when he decides to exit stage right..........

I met him at Logan Airport a couple years ago right after the Super Bowl loss to the Giants. Great guy he autographed my son's Patriots hat.

The funny part about is he was standing amongst approximately 150 people and nobody knew who he was, except me. Just goes to show you the type of person he is, doesn't pimp himself to the media or show boat. He just comes in, works hard and does his job. I wish the Patriots had 53 Kevin Faulks on the team.

The funny part about is he was standing amongst approximately 150 people and nobody knew who he was, except me. Just goes to show you the type of person he is, doesn't pimp himself to the media or show boat. He just comes in, works hard and does his job. I wish the Patriots had 53 Kevin Faulks on the team.

Funny how the "smallest" players (Faulk/Welker/Edelman, and of course Troy Brown) have among the biggest hearts. . . . :rocker:

Glad he'll be back in the fall.

But I don't have quite the same emotional attachment that some of you clearly have... I would rather have a team full of bad people that win than good guys who lose. In Faulk's case : he seems like a good guy who ALSO helps the team win - so I'm all for that.

However, if you promised me a SB if they dumped Faulk : I'd be all for it. None of these guys are our friends : they entertain us on Sundays. And it's much more entertaining after a win. That's why I am always surprised at the high value people palce on personalities... just win. Anything more is gravy.

A couple of things to keep in mind. It takes two to tango.

We need the FO to focus on identifying more of this:

"When I first met him the first thing you saw was a guy who was passionate about football. Some guys like football. Some guys want to make a living playing football. But with Kevin, there was passion -- for football and his family."

But we also need those players to be willing to acknowledge more of this:

Truth be told, while Faulk wanted nothing but to return to New England, the contract he agreed to wasn't what he had hoped it would be in terms of length or dollars. But when you combine the passion for football and family, it was the right decision for him.

In that sense, Faulk is following in the Patriots footsteps of players like Tedy Bruschi and Troy Brown. For those franchise icons, it was Patriots or bust.

"He's turned out to be everything everyone thought he could be and more, which is a tribute to him, his desire and his passion. His career speaks for itself. The Patriots organization has done a great job with him over the years in continuing to develop him and put him in a position where he can be successful."

I doubt anybody will ever match Troy Brown for me as a Patriot who it was a pleasure to root for. Troy was a particular underdog, a particularly smart player, an awesomely versatile and team-first player, and IMO the MVP of the most important postseason the Patriots will ever have.

But Faulk is a very strong contender for second place as far as I'm concerned, up there with Bruschi, Vrabel, Welker, and maybe Brady.

Strong candidates to join them include Wilfork and Vollmer (my parents are German immigrants).
