Saw on the net and just on the radio (Sirius) of a rumor of the Pats possibly showing interest in Desmond Clark for a low round draft pick

Would be our best blocking tight end since Dan Graham and for a low rounder trade, it takes away a look for a TE in the draft.

What is the opinion here for this guy?

Just when you think the Pats have interest in a Bears TE like Olsen,it could be the OTHER guy.

The patriots are interested in every veteran tight end that can walk.

I would give a second for Tony Gonzalez right now, even at his age but its not possible

Sirius Radio....Pat Kirwan and a small Website I visited earlier in the day but can't remember where.

It was not made up,I didn't even think about the other TE of the Bears until I heard this one.

I just don't want to take a TE early in the draft after letting a perfectly capable Watson go. I am not saying we should have paid Watson what he got, but if we take a Gresham (not going to happen) we will have to pay more than what Ben got for a slightly abpve-average TE prospect, in my eyes. I am not a big Clark guy, but I don't see many superior options at the moment, nor do I want to invest a pick in Olsen, who isn't a legitimate TE at the line of scrimmage.

Shannon Sharpe isn't in a retirement home yet

I bet he could be had for peanuts too

If this happens, I may have to re-evaluate my theory that Belichick will be much better at running the club this year than he was last year.

If the Pats give up a sixth or seventh, a good option. Good blocker. Used to be a very good receiver for a TE. The question is his drop in receiving production the last two years because of him or the system.

If I recall correctly, this guy was a candidate to be moved to T for the Bears a couple years ago, but the conversion never came about. Anybody remember if this is true?

Used to be a fair pass catching TE, with Olsen around he has been getting less looks.

Worth a look to see what he has left IMO.

Meh, what's the point? Tony Gonzalez doesn't want to come here and catch 20 balls.

This guy is 33 next month and had 19 catches last year. Yes, he is a blocker. Can't we go with Crumpler or a sixth lineman and save the draft pick?

That's where I'm at. I don't get the idea of giving up a pick for the next Kyle Brady.

A 249 LB Tackle ? He is small for a tight end.

Michaels, Alex from Tampa Bay, Baker....i'm not up for trading a draft pick for someone they will cut anyway. Not much point in it.

Clark was a very good wide receiver in college at Wake Forest before moving to TE with the Bears in the NFL. He can definitely catch the ball more than 19 times in the right system.

He would be here to replace Chris Baker's role,NOT Ben Watson
