Gerard Warren being released possibly...any interest?

He's a DTackle. And we've got a full rotation between Wilfork, Wright, Brace and Pryor. He's not playing Dend for us at 330lbs.

I wasn't sure if he could take an DE position or not.. if he could and be viable it gives us more freedom w/ our 4 draft picks in the top 50... thats all..

I wasn't sure if he could take an DE position or not.. if he could and be viable it gives us more freedom w/ our 4 draft picks in the top 50... thats all..

I know, I understood the topic subject. I was just responding to what "tanked" said about getting him to replace Ron Brace. If that is all we could accomplish by acquiring Warren it'd just be a waste of resources.

using a 2nd round pick on brace was a waste of resources.......

you do realize that warren is not going to get paid much........but that's besides the point since I was pretty sure I was joking.......

you probably thought I was serious about him playing LB

How can you say it was a waste of resources? This guy isnt a Chad Jackson case, yet. He's not out of the league. He's not even a 2nd year player. He's insurance to probably the 2nd most important player on this team. And who knows how the rest of his time plays out. But to call a guy a "waste" before the guy's even be here a full year is just garbage.

You need a backup NT, especially when Wilfork could have potentially held out and not played.

put it this way, as a rookie, chad jackson showed more and he was injured.

think what you want, but a guy who was not prepared to even step on the field was a waste....especially given the players who were available at that moment...

face it......if brace actually showed anything, the pats would likely not have moved so fast on wilfork

true.....but the chargers managed to find a replacement in a bar.....Ian Scott was out of the game for over a year when jamal williams went down in 2008, and he played pretty well last year when williams went out again

I know....but I was assuming you were addressing me since I am predicting brace to be a bust

he's not very far away from being one.....a season of OTA's is all that separates him now......I believe the pats FO won't hesitate to cut him loose if a 2010 day 3 draft pick shows up and does what pryor did

you simply cannot feel good about a 2nd round pick being a healthy scratch for most of the year

Denver let him go for a conditional 5th to a rival, I'd trust Denvers opinion more than that of the Raiders.
