Although the Pats Offense in 09 was statistically as good as any year under BB/Brady I do think it was, at times, a bit stale and predictable.

As usual the NFL draft guru's as well as many posters here are focusing on Defense heavy draft, particularly in rds 1 & 2. Just like many didn't see Lo Mo & Cjack in '06 would you be surprised to see a draft like this:

#22 demaryius thomas - mini Megatron is flying up the bord
#44 Dexter Mcluster - used all over the field
#47 daryl Washington -
#53 Dennis Pitta

You can add the players you want but a draft like this really does change the face of this offense not only this year but in the following years.

Thoughts on a first rd pick other than Brandon Graham which is the concensus pick??

Ryan Matthews and McCluster. That would shock quite a few.

IMHO, this would be judged the worst patriot draft since Belichick joinded the team and at best a D-.

Throw in Koa Misi for the 2nd or 3rd pick in the 2nd round. They say this kid is even more athletic and nfl ready than Kruger was.

Did you just advocate that the Pats should spend a 1st round pick on a guy who just BROKE HIS FOOT?

Demaryius Thomas will miss combine with broken foot - NFL - SI.com

How did that work out for Crabtree? He couldn't run at the combine either. The injury is good thing for the pats b/c its probably the only reason he falls to this spot otherwise he's long gone. Thomas has tremendous size and very good speed. I think a bigger concern than the injury is the fact he didn't paly in a prostyle offense at GT.

I love Thomas, and have been all about drafting him this year, but how the heck did he go from a 3rd/4th guy to a 1st rounder? He's raw, comes from a goofy offense, and occasionally has lapses in concentration. He needs a year or two to develop. With his foot injury, he's even more of a projection; how does that fit into the 1st round?

That said, his physical tools and work ethic are off the charts. He's a punishing blocker, can outjump just about any DB for the ball, and is a beast after the catch because he's so big and physical. Reminds me of a young Brandon Marshall or even Vincent Jackson. He could be that good--in time. I want to add him to this roster, but in the late 2nd or the 3rd if he's available and we pick up a 3rd round pick, not in the 1st.
