St Louis has a ton of upside.....

First we miss out on Peppers, then Bodden, now Fields um i mean fells. This is the last straw.

Wow....shows where this kid's head is. "Hmm? Do I go back to that abysmal pathetic excuse of a football team or do I go somewhere where I can win a SB? Well, I don't know too many people in New England sooo, I guess I'll go home!":bricks: Whatever...bring on the next guy.

but what's important is that the pats 'tried'

no....they 'pushed hard'

sometimes it just works out this way.

in BB we trust

I hope they dont resign Watson. Time for a change.

I enjoyed it, even as the whiners make sarcasm almost impossible in the next few posts.:D

Bet they would have grabbed him if he was cheap. Hard to believe, but in my neighborhood, a million and a half is still good money...Just saying.

I wish him good luck, he seems like a nice kid. He was a UDFA, so we can get a similar model in 4,5,6,7 maybe.;)

Maybe. But when it comes to Watson, I'm all over the "value" thing. If

1)he wants to take a hometown discount to remain a Patriot,

2)he's truly become a much better blocker now, and

3) Brady still has confidence in him,

sign the man. He's a good guy, a smart guy, and has tons of physical talent. He's been good, not great--we just haven't used him a lot in the passing game for whatever reason. Maybe BB does think it's time to "move on." But if we do re-sign him to a below market contract, I'll say "great move!" :p

If the Pats made him a competitive offer, and he chose the Rams, there is something wrong. And I don't say that because I'm a Pats fan. The same would be true if the choice was Rams vs the Colts, Steelers, Vikes, Saints, etc. What would cause a FA football player to choose years of being bummed out after games to the thrill of victory week after week, year after year?

Is it known whether the Pats made him an offer?

peppers didn't have a problem picking the bears over the pats.......

the pats are no longer the blooming rose of the NFL......to pull up roots and go somewhere for a chance at a playoff game ain't all that

Wow... no dice. Get ready for Gresham at #22!!

the pats need some freaking linebackers!!!!!

if you have good LB's with the rest of this defense, you can afford to have rod rutledges and jermaine wigginses as your TE's

We'll probably never know. Reiss said the Pats were discussing a contract with Fells' agent, so there must have been some interest. Fells signed a one-year deal for $1.5 mil.

Peppers went to the Bears because they're a desperate team and they offered him substantially more money. He did what 95 percent of NFL players would have done in his position.
