post your worst nightmare Pats draft ( when picking positions of need, don't take 4 QB's etc )

#22 Jason Pierre-Paul OLB

Biggest bust potential in the 1st round, all hype & combine numbers no real football production. Very very raw & best case will take years to develop.

#44 Carlos Dunlap DE

DUI the day before the biggest game of the season, questionable motor. I've read he did VERY poorly with his combine interviews.

#47 Arrelious Benn WR

I want nothing to do with a WR that cant even put up decent numbers in college.

#53 Jonathan Dwyer RB

Triple option offense inflated his stats, showed up out of shape to the combine & looked ( & timed ) slow. Much much rather pick Toby Gerhart or Tate @53 if we pick a RB here.

Not to speak for others, but I'm pretty sure a lot of ppl in here would be ECSTATIC over that draft.
Honestly haven't researched JPP much because I know someone will reach on him. As for Dunlap, if he has his head on straight he'd be a steal AT 22!

Dunlaps would be a steal? He falls asleep at a red light, dead drunk 4 days before the SEC championship game and looks lethargic on the field. Didn't impress in interviews either. That would be a steal at 22?

I agree. I think alot of people would be happy with a draft like that. You do have the potential for some busts with those 4 picks, but you also have the potential for some really good players.

Which is why I said "if he has his head on straight" in regards to the off field stuff. His play on the field far supersedes a pick at 22, especially in our system. He's everything BB looks for in a strongside outside backer.

I couldn't put together a bust list without Brandon Lafell and Trevard Lindley on it. I'll be shocked if either are in the NFL 5 years from now.

I do think all four of your choices have high bust potential.

I do not want Dunlap, and I was not impressed by JPP's actual play.

I do think you're being way too hard on Benn though. Can't blame him for the Juice's throwing problems.

Of those 4 guys, I would take Benn in the mid 2nd round if he's still there.

I do acknowledge though that he has high bust potential. There's also a high reward associated with him as well.

We shouldn't forget that Vincent Jackson was called a bust after one year.

Benn unfortunately played with one of the worst QB's in college football last year, so he should get a pass for that reason. The others have bust potential, but also boom potential as well.

I will be that guy who throws out the one and only Tim Tebow as a bust.

Also remember he is only 20 years old and comes out of a nasty neighborhood in North Charleston SC. In the right setting he could matures into solid citizen off the field and a beast on the field.

I agree with you 100% on Lafell. He really took advantage of defensive backs cheating up in case the LSU QB ran. I am not sure he runs his routes crisply at all.

I don;t buy that excuse. Sterling Sharpe played his senior season with unherlalded Todd Ellis at QB and it did not affect his draft status!

Good WR's make plays and Benn dropped way too many balls for me to feel he is a first round talent.

Would you consider the 2004 version of Terrell Owens first-round talent? I think Benn can be that guy.

Living in San Diego at the time, I recalled Vincent Jackson was thought by some to be a TE/WR tweener. And he wasn't taken in the first round. He was near the bottom on the second, which in the average draft year, would be unfair to call a guy a bust when picked so late. No?

Add Everson Griffen to that list and I think you read my mind. The same people that think that would be a great draft board also thought Vernon Gholston was a MUST HAVE in NE.

I didn't say I thought he was a bust.

But when a second rounder doesn't pan out, yes, I think he' a bust.

2nd rounders should become mediocre starters or contributing backups, or otherwise you've failed as a drafter.
