It seems that with no TE's on the roster and the known love affair BB seems to have with drafting them that the signs might be pointing to Gresham being the pick at #22.

For me, I would be dissapointed with the pick as I feel that with the way these TE's have been used in recent years, you could pick up someone later and get about the same production.

Thoughts?

I do think the writing is on the fall but I disagree w/ it being a TE.. I think there has been a fundamental shift in the offenseive philosphy that is not geared towards using TE's as weapons.. more instead as chip blockers.

I do see this pick either being DT (Odrick) or Rushing OLB (Graham/Hughes etc).. you can take that to the bank!. .there will be plenty of TE's in the later rounds.. thats from lots of NFL experts are saying..

We have 43 days to address the TE situation before the draft. I expect 2-3 tight ends to be signed by that time. It is also possible that Belichick sees a TE backup in one of the Practice Squad players.

So, while I am fine with us using one of our top four picks on a TE, I don't think that it will be necessary.

Odrick has been my pick since as long as I can remember. He is starting to rise on boards and now I just hope he is there as a possiblity at 22.

I think we have too many other needs to lock in on Gresham @ 22. If we sign Crumpler and/or Fells to handle the blocking TE position, we can get a receiving TE like Hernandez or ****erson in Rd 2, and/or get a guy like Pitta or ****son in the Rd 4 range.

If there were a consensus stud TE that fell to us that would be ok, but w/o I see no need to use any picks on day one or day two for that matter on a TE.

I'd go with Odrick at #22 or trade down with the Cowboys for #27 + additional picks. They might want to move up to nab the last of the quality OL in round 1.

Quality over quantity. If we trade, i want to move up. I like Suh and feel he could be a great playmaking RDE in our defense. He would be a huge statement pick by BB and solidify our D Line for the next few years.

That being said, I doubt BB is bold enough to do a deal like that.

So we are back to Odrick. Great measurables and a strong motor. But where is the production against a quality opponent. Penn State played a ton of cupcakes this past year and when Odrick got to the bowl game at the end of the year, he was manhandled by a weak LSU O Line.

What would you be willing to trade to get Suh, and could you justify making him one of, if not the, highest-paid guy on the team?

Suh would be dynamite at DE, and I would pay next year's Raiders pick plus our #1 to move to #1 and grab him, but I don't know I could justify the contract required.
