After kicking tires on Thomas Jones and Justin Fargas and lining up a visit with Willie Parker, the Chiefs have agreed to terms with Jones, according to a league source.

Jones signed a two-year deal; he'll get $3 million in 2010 and $2 million in 2011. He also is eligible to earn $500,000 in incentives.

With the Jets in 2009, Jones rushed for a career-high 1,402 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Jets cut him to avoid a $2.8 million roster bonus. They had hoped to try to re-sign him.

Keeping Chambers and getting Jones. Now the Chiefs need to improve the line and tight end position and, if Bowe decides to get his act together, K.C. could actually have an offense worth watching.

Good for KC , I still think he has some gas in the tank, and that's cheap for a good RB.

Too slow :)

Just happy the Jets weren't able to re-sign, he was their offense last year.

Very true...and with some good coordinators now in KC - they might even beat SD once which could knock them down in playoff conference seating. Even better if they could beat Raiders once or twice in 2010 which will help the position of the former Raiders first round draft pick which NEP's own. Lets go Patriots West oops -I mean Go KC!

He wont get near 1000 yards sharing carries with Jamal Charles that is for sure.

Good move for the Chiefs. If they can improve that O-Line and get some receivers to work with Cassel other than Chambers, I don't see how that offense can't be accounted for.

Perfect fit for them IMO, and a good price too.

Good for KC and it weakens the Jets! Who could ask for anything more?? :D

Great pick up for the Chiefs. If they can just get that O-line fixed, a good receiving TE, and some receivers, that offense might be good.....

;)

I really wanted the Patriots to get TJones. I mean, $3mill this year, and $2mill next year is a STEAL for a 1400yd RB!

He would've been our #1 RB, with LM taking some snaps..

Rats!

How about putting a bid for Washington (Jets). This would push Jets to pay him, as Jets are not about to let him go, now..

That's the whole point. He doesn't have to go over 1,000 yards. He has to play well to compliment Charles and that's that.

The Kansas City Patriots.. err I mean Chiefs are doing OK it seems.

I think this only helps Jamal Charles who is more of a change of pace back by limiting his touches he should stay fresh because I just can't see him as a feature back.

Tell ya what, Charles DOMINATED near the end of last year when he was given the starting gig, I had him on a fantasy team(FA pickup like week 12).
I don't think he would hold up to a full season of that bashing, so it should help the team, but hurt HIM as a player because he probably won't see the big contract he was probably hoping for.

It hurts Jones and Charles in FF next year that's for sure. :bricks:

As a chiefs fan, i really like the signing. We get a great back to spell charles.

Also, it does get a lil annoying that we are trying to be the new arizona patri-chiefs, but whatever makes the chiefs better is ok

oh sorry to hear about watson and baker. Im a chiefs fan first and pats fan 2nd so i hope your other tes can step up.

Cassel has proven he's top 10 starting QB in this league when surrounded by good weapons - the RBs will help, but quality wideouts must be added. He's a very likable guy and I think a lot of Patriot fans here still root for him.
