Report: Jets may be helping Cromartie pay child support

So just to clarify, are you saying that fathering 7 kids with 6 women in 5 states is a good idea? Or that it was a series of bad choices, but he just shouldn't admit as much?

No of course not, but to then basically call those kids mistakes... well I just feel bad for the kids and the issues that will probably face them as they get older. The whole situation is just a mess obviously.

This why I find it humerous that everyone thinks the "Jets" have surpassed us with Cromartie. They get a bum who doesn't care about football, but cut a very productive team leader in Thomas Jones and tender Washington with a 2nd round who is flirting with San Francisco. Someone will have to explain to me how a team with a QB who threw 20+ picks a year ago can *possibly* lose two of its most productive rushers and thus far has only traded for a knucklehead CB, be better off a year later?

But back to topic I mentioned this the other day in another thread:
http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/10/326814-taking-deep-breath.html

However, I think the Cromartie deal was a joke. The guy clearly doesn't get it both on and off the field. When you have to get a 500K advance to pay child support for your 7 kids who live in 5 different states, you have a discipline problem. The last NFL player who was in a similar situation ended up going to jail for transporting/distribuition of cocaine.

Seems like the high character player any team would want.

Washington wasn't exactly productive last year. He was pretty good and then his leg got trashed. I agree that letting Jones go was a strange choice, since this year is uncapped anyways and they could have at the very least kept him as insurance against Green pulling a Forte or something.

Which reminds me, I heard on BSPN Radio today that there's an estimate that 70 percent of guys who play in the NFL or the NBA are broke within five years of leaving the league. That scares the hle out of me. When I got out of college, I landed a job that paid $8 an hour and I thought that was a HUGE amount of money... so I can only imagine what it's like to go from having 5 bucks to your name to $250,000 in a single check.

I thought the NFL addressed these issues, though, in that "rookie symposium" they do every year?

7 Children by 6 women in 5 states!!!!!!!!!

He's an allocation GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk about "left brain, right brain"........this guy is like one of those IDIOT SAVANTS!!!!!!

7 children by 6 women in 5 states within 4 counties in 3 houses and 2 condos with 1 being homeless. Cromartie is a P.I.M.P.

True, but he is a dynamic playmaker that would provide a huge boost to a backfield of Greene and Jones, if his knee responds of cours.

Your last sentence is my point exactly, Greene would be the only "proven" back on the roster and what has he done? He hasn't had to be the man over 16 games, and Forte and Slater are prime examples of what can happen in year two.

Am I the only one that laughed pretty good when I saw the topic title?

Happy the Jets were able to add this high quality character to the locker-room.

No the Jets showed they surpassed the Pats in weeks 18 and 19 last year.

Ah, I get it, because every team that makes it deep into the playoffs goes back the next year.

Thanks for the lesson.

Maybe Pittsburgh, Carolina, Atlanta and Miami could learn something from this. But I bet SD is pissed because they were better than Indy in weeks 18 and 19 in 2008 but Indy made it to the super bowl. And maybe NO should have treated the playoffs like the pro bowl and blew them off, after all, they couldn't be any good in 2009 because they didn't play after week 17 in 2008, why show up???

One minor thing I'm curious about is the one woman who had two of Cromartie's children. Were they twins or can she trump the other 5 women by pointing out that he thought highly enough of her to have have a second child with her. The others? One and done. :D

Cromartie doesn't just need money for child support. He needs to hire an assistant just to keep all these children straight. Besides big things like birthdays, there are all those details like allergies, nicknames, favorite stuffed animals, etc. Christmas and graduations are going to be a scheduling nightmare for him.

And what if he settles down in a few years and decides to get married and start another family. That could get really confusing. Then again, he is going to clean up on Father's Day.

Well, it certainly wasn't weeks 16 and 17 that the Jets surpassed us.

Nah, chances are they've never seen him and never will. They'd say, "Cromartie who?" He better pray he has a long and healthy football career, because otherwise he'll become a record-setting deadbeat dad.

The guy obviously has an addiction for cream pies

Personally I'm surprised this doesn't happen more, maybe the women say, "its ok honey" as they do when putting your schlong inside her vag, "I'm on the pill honey its OK babe", but really thinking yeah come in me bia tch this is my meal ticket bia tch yeah ride that ****ay!

He is nieve and terribly thick!

So glad this trash isn't on our team. We've got to get some WR's to overcome what the NYJ will throw at us.

Just run sweeps to Cromartie's side of the field. He'll do his patented matador impression.

Having a family reunion would be a logistical nightmare for this idiot. Great "character guy," that Cromartie. I think we should throw diapers at him when he visits Gillette.

My first image was "used" diapers being thrown. I'm still laughing at that:D

7 kids with 6 different women in San Diego? He could repopulate an abandoned city once the tramps of NYC get their hooks into him (and vice versa).
