I wouldn't complain....throw in guys like DE(3-4)CJ wilson, DE (3-4)clifton geathers, RD lonyae miller, TE tony moeaki, OG marshall newhouse, SS harry coleman, WR marcus easley in day 3, and we can go home now

LOL, that's not too far from my earlier mention of :

1) Odrick
2a) Damien Williams
2b) Spikes
2c) Misi

Decker is coming off too serious an injury to take that high.

Can't see the Pats taking 2 conversion projects/tweeners in Graham and Misi. Graham is probably too light and his arms way too short to be considered by the Pats (despite being many posters' binky) and Misi needs to bulk up a lot to play OLB in a 3-4.

No chance that the Pats take 3 LB's in the the entire draft, let alone 3 of their top 4 picks. I expect them to take a TE, LB and WR(or RB) and trade one of their picks down into the 3rd or into next year. If they don't sign Marques Douglas or one of the other FA 5-tech DL, I'd expect that they would grab a DE early in lieu of a WR

Version 1.0

27) Brandon Graham OLB Michigan
44) Damian Williams WR USC
47) Aaron Hernandez TE Miami
53) Alex Carrington DE Arkansas St.

carrington will get pushed around in the running game....

You would think that, but I watched Carrington blow up the Alabama O line all game long earlier this year and this is the same O Line that mauled Florida and Texas on the ground.

If he had longer arms, I would think that with 20 pounds of muscle, he could hold his own in the running game.

carrington might be more 4-3 DE.

Brandon Deaderick in the late rounds might be a good 3-4 DE. Not super mobile though.

Misi in the 2nd I think is a reach. Decker is a reach in the 2nd. He has a busted foot lis franc injury. He'd be a reach even w/o that injury.

Graham is too light at 265?

Don't like it and won't happen. Graham and Mosi fall waaaay too short of
BB's 6-4 4.6 requirement for DE/OLB hybrid types. I like Spikes-he has the nastiness, tackling ability, strength, and leadership we need on defense although I worry about his ability to cover. Because of his injury, Decker is more like a 3rd or 4th Rd guy, but I do like the player. Here's my ideal 2 Rd Mock:

22. Ricky Sapp OLB Clemson 6'4 252 40: 4.70 (and will probably run faster at his Pro Day) Arms: 34.5 inches
44. Maurkice Pouncey G/C Florida
47. Jahvid Best RB Cal
53. Brandon Deaderick DE Alabama

I would hope to fill other needs like WR (Taylor Price, Ohio) & TE (Tony Moeaki Iowa/Clay Harbor Missouri State) and OLB depth (Lindsey Witten UCONN/Kevin Basped Nevada) with later picks.

22) Jared Odrick DE

44) Greg Hardy DE/OLB

47) Maurkice Pouncey G/C

53) Jared Veldheer OT

I can see the pats targeting 3 players and making it happen..

22. Odrick Is a stud and steps in to sure up our D-Line for years
27-34 Trade up to get Hughes trading two 2nd rounders..
52. Signing Brandon Spikes

You then would have a front 7 of

Warren / Wilfork / Odrick
Hughes / Mayo / Spikes / TBC

i want Jared Odrick DE at #22

#44 Jerry Hughes, OLB

#47 Koa Misi, OLB

#53 arthur jones, DE

I like your picks and feel RB and OG are a big need as well.

I like it. Don't know if Bill would do it, but I like it. Odrick is the odds on favorite if he's avalable and we keep our 22nd.

I'm not sure if Spikes will be there at #44. I hope he is.

I don't get why people get too focused on what a prototypical player BB covets and how someone like Graham may not fit what BB wants. Graham looked unblockable at time against some good OLs this past season and has played well his entire collegiate career. So what if his arms are shorter or he doesn't weigh as much. The guy showed great strenght and quickness and I would be ecstatic if we get him.

We already have the prototypical guys like Woods and also Vince Redd last season, and they turned out completely useless as a starting OLB options.

That trade is terrible. I wouldn't give up 2 second rounders in this draft. I'd try to trade down and get some extra picks in a deep draft instead. Those third rounders can be pretty valuable. You could select a Ben Tate with one of those.

Great point. Add Crable to the list of 'fits the physical profile', done nothing. Time to adjust the model. Bill has proven in the past to change and adapt, lets hope thats the case here.
