Re: Kevin Faulk; No Offers From Anyone...

If so, I say Jack Corcoran from Rutgers.

He'd be good but I like Cory Jackson out of Maryland, I think he'd have more upside.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

Would Faulk sign with the Pats AFTER the draft? Seems like it would be a slap in the face though Faulk is pretty easy going

Re: Kevin Faulk; No Offers From Anyone...

Not for nothing, but last time we didn't have Faulk there to pick up blitzers on 3rd down, Brady's knee promptly got destroyed. The guy's one of a kind, and I'd be surprised if the Pats don't hang onto him for as long as he can still play.

faulk means more to the pats then any other team. he is 34 years old

he is a leader on the pats and he is brady go to guy when the game is on the line. i can't see him being all that with any other team.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

This guy NEEDS to be retained and retire as a Pat. He is so clutch and so reliable, as well as so good at picking up the blitz. He's also one of the important leaders in that locker room. As I said in the other thread, that shot of Faulk gathering everyone and yelling on the sidelines trying to pump the guys up in that disaster Ravens game is something I will never forget. The day this guy retires will be very emotional for me and many of the great fans of NE.

Re: Kevin Faulk; No Offers From Anyone...

If the Pats can somehow get Sproles I would say Faulk is in trouble....the Pats may also be looking for a fullback late in the draft

Faulk is going to have to have a solid offseason IMO,sad thing to see Kevin getting older

Do you know something the rest of us don't know?;)

Has anyone remotely talked of Darren Sproles being courted by NE, or is this just wishful thinking by you? I couldn't imagine the front office choosing to part with a 1st and a 3rd for anyone, more importantly, I couldn't imagine them parting with a 1st and a 3rd AND paying Sproles major money when Kevin Faulk can do just as good a job in the immediate future for a fraction of the cost.

I'm guessing Faulk finishes his career here in NE, hopefully for another year, if not two. Then they'll go the route of developing a cheap draft pick on a nice long rookie deal, or pick up a viable 2nd or 3rd tier FA in the next couple yrs.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

Faulk is pretty much Troy Brown. I don't think any team is going to waste their time wooing him and trying to offer him a deal because they are sure he's staying with us.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

Resign him.

Please.
He was outstanding V the Ravens both on the field and on the sideline. He has to come back if this team values its leaders.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

Unless I'm really missing something, Faulk didn't show any dropoff in effectiveness last year. Not sure why he wouldn't be a lock for this upcoming season.

I agree. He was a bright spot.

Den or KC, could use him.

Re: Kevin Faulk; No Offers From Anyone...

I don't think so and I hope not. I hope he's not getting any offers from them because he and the Pats are hammering out the last details of his new contract. Faulk still has quite a bit left in the tank and needs to be brought back in next season. On top of that, this locker room needs leadership on both sides of ball and if that game against Baltimore should have convinced anyone of anything (aside from the fact that the Pats defense was easily run on last season), it's that Faulk is every bit of that.

He said, on Sportsdesk that he was very sure that he would return to play for the Patriots. That would sort of discourage other suitors I would think.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

Faulk can still play. Still very productive.

Would not be surprised if BB wants to take this opportunity to go through FA & the draft and see if there is an opportunity to get younger.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

Is it imperative that Kev re-signs right now?

Obviously he has no salary coming in, but after 10 years in the league he likely doesn't need one coming in every month.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him sign in a fortnight or about draft time.

He should come back, he's still performing - he had 5.4 ypc last year, as well as 300 receiving yards.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

He'll be back.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

I believe the spot is there for faulk if he wants it........he is probably taking his time since he probably does not need the OTA's

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

Potentially Kevin Faulk, Tedy Bruschi & Troy Brown all gone 1-2-3. The Patriots landscape really has changed hasn't it.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

Faulk's not going anywhere. And Im sure the "branches" in KC, Denver and Cleveland know that, and in this case, wouldnt even bother insulting Belichick by prying away a New England legend. Faulk's gonna get a nice single season deal, considering there's no cap this year. But why throw big 1yr money at him early when it can impact what others make? Patience. He's a Patriot.

Re: Kevin Faulk has no offers from anyone...

Belichick would never insult Kevin by letting him know he wasn't on the team this way. Bill may not be the best communicator on the planet, but he doesn't treat guys who play the game the way Kevin does that way.

I could be wrong but I believe none of the 53 have regular salary comming in untill the 1st week in September. Obviously this does not include those players with roster or workout bonus payments.

I respect & like Faulk and hope to see his leadership and ability on the home field again this fall.

Well if they're trying for Washington, then I doubt they keep two players who are exactly the same.

I think it would be a mistake not to sign him. I'd rather have him than Bodden. Butler would probably surpass bodden by year end anyway if given enough playing time.
