Jets players VERY unhappy Thomas Jones set free

They'll get over it...like the Pats got over Lawyer Milloy...

rumor is they are going to bring him back at some point......at least that is what they were saying on mike and mike.......because you are right....the teammates supposedly are not happy with the move.....and interestingly enough, he is not even being talked about by other teams at this point is he? I would rather have him in here than what we have.....Maroney is not the answer long term....and is injury prone, Taylor and Morris are pretty close to cooked.....he would surely be an upgrade......

what? and thomas jones is the answer long term? I would rather him over morris or taylor but that is about the extent of it. I still think he is a great running back tho had a great season last year

I like our RB situation better than theirs for this upcoming season, but after that...who knows?

sorry i'm just thinking about your idiotic post and it's making me laugh even more hahahhahahahahahahahha...

To me, it looks like the Jets are making all the right moves in advancing their team while we, so far, are struggling to keep our team as good as it was last year... Are we going to get raped by the Jets this season?

I don't even see why anyone would plan "long-term" at RB. Unless you can get a transcendent talent, what's the point? RBs are exposed to so many hits that, in all likelihood, your RB trajectory is going to change a multitude of times over any long haul. Kinda ironically, I'd rather just do what the Jets did: target guys that you like in the 2nd-4th round, and grab one of them every couple of years (move up if you have to). Always have a relatively dynamic young talent, and rarely, if ever, sign any of them to a second contract.

So, the Patriots sign Jones and beat the Jets 31-0 in the season opener, after which the Jets go 14-2 and win the superbowl while Jones and the Pats miss the playoffs?

Check it out, I can answer this question in one word:

No.

How exactly are we going to stop that defense with rookie receivers? It doesn't seem like we're making any big moves in the FA.

As the great philosopher Tonto is reported to have said:

"Who's 'we', white man?".

Well, considering it is three days into free agency, the Pats might have pack it in. So far Nate Burleson has been signed. And let's not forget.... Oh yeah, no other free agent WR have been signed since the start of free agency.

Jets players are very unhappy in general, since they know they're not going to win a ring as long as they're wearing the green and white. :D

That makes three teams now that have cut Jones despite him being fairly productive (or in the Jets case, very productive) for them. It does seem to be an odd pattern.

I remember a lot of people thought the Bears were nuts for letting him go. Maybe he's the Jeff George of RBs.
