Brandon Marshall (ideal fit in NE)

If we're willing to give up a first for Marshall, then IMO we really should just go the extra mile and give up the extra third for Austin (after trading one of our seconds for a third and a fourth or something).

Are we allowed to post links to streams, got sportscentre if anyone wants it.

Brandon Marshall

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Bengals have contemplated pursuing restricted free agent Brandon Marshall.

No visit is scheduled yet, and Marshall was in Seattle over the weekend. However, Schefter's report suggests that Cincinnati is serious about making the potential move. Marshall fits the profile for a franchise that loves to give players second, third, and even fourth chances, and the Bengals' No. 21 overall draft choice would likely be enough to consummate a trade.

It won't happen unless Hell freezes over. Marshall and TO are the type of guys Bill does not want; I the Big Receiver is a common fantasy, but the Patriots already have one of the best ever and he is a great clubhouse guy. There is no way that they would get a prima donna like Marshall or TO; BB had enough clubhouse headaches last year. Bank on that.

Ocho and Marshall on the same team. Jesus...... if Palmer couldn't throw for 40 touchdowns with that, he deserves to be shot.

if the pats did not trade for anquan boldin, who would have cost the pats a 2th round pick and only 7 million a year. why would they give up a #1 and 9 or 10 million a year for a guy with off and on field baggage.

i think he ends up with the Seahawks. they will trade the 14th pick for him.

that could be bad for the pats. danver could take Dan Williams, and Jared Odrick, in the first round. and Arrelious Benn, or Jerry Hughes, in the 2th round.

Because he is 4 years younger, and a better talent. Plus, he would probably fit into our offense better than Boldin would.

I wouldn't say Marshall is a prima dona though. His issues lie off field.

I feel like if we can address a huge hole on offense with someone like Marshall, it would allow us to focus more on one side of the ball in the draft (defense). Obviously we could use another WR, and maybe some depth at OL, but those can be addressed in middle rounds. Getting someone like Marshall would be outstanding for this offense.

Obviously he has character concerns, but don't we have faith in BB and TB? Don't you think they could help him keep his head straight?

Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic, but I really want Marshall here. He would seamlessly fit right into our offense.

What say you? What do you think the chances are? Just thoughts in general...

The lockerroom was an issue last year and now you want to add a known problem child who's had no problem with creating issues in a public forum. Imagine how much the Boston media would enjoy it. Besides, character issues by nature also carry over to the community. Would Marshall be living with BB or with TB?

Can someone explain to me why we need OL depth. We have one of the best starting 5 in the league and some young kids drafted in the poast couple years that staff felt good enough about to let guys like Hochstein move on. After the 3rd round, then sure we may pick up someine if the value is there. But too many other needs to take a "first day" O lineman.

he is one of the best WR in the NFL yes and would fit any system. but do you realy think the pats will give all most 20 million on two WR's in moss and marshell, when there are so many holes on defense. i just don't see the pats makeing a move for a big time WR maybe Antonio Bryant, who the pats could get for 4 million a year.

Did you even read my post? You go on to question what I was saying and then in your final sentence agree with what I said...

I said we could use some OL depth, but not until the middle rounds....

Koppen seems to be declining, Neal will get hurt, so you're nuts if you think we don't need depth. But yeah, I never said we need OL depth on first day draft, so don't put that into qoutes and misqoute me.

We have a lot of bodies, but we need some of them to emerge from the pack, particularly at guard, where I don't think anyone's counting on Neal to step up. Seeing something compelling from Ohrenberger would be huge, and would make me feel a lot better. Also, the sooner we can replace Koppen, the better. Definitely wouldn't call the Pats' starting 5 one of the best in the league.

From what I remmember of the top of my head Marshall had an accident with an LCD big screen...

Legal trouble
According to Orlando-Orange County public records (case 48-2004-MM-012392-O), on Halloween 2004, while a student at UCF, Marshall was arrested in Orlando on charges of assault on a law enforcement officer, refusal to obey, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer.[54]

On January 1, 2007, Marshall was present at "The Shelter," a nightclub in Denver, Colorado, along with teammates Javon Walker and Darrent Williams. The trio was attending a birthday party held for and by Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin. As the players were leaving the club in a limousine, Williams was fatally shot in the neck after an unknown assailant opened fire on the vehicle. Willie Clark was later charged with the murder.[55] Walker has stated in interviews that the shooter was likely a nightclub patron whose motive was retaliation after being involved in an altercation with Marshall's cousin earlier that night.[56]

On March 26, 2007, Marshall was arrested in the Highlands Ranch suburb of Denver on suspicion of domestic violence after his girlfriend reported that following a domestic dispute, Marshall prevented a taxi she was in from leaving his house.[57] Charges from the incident were later dismissed on May 25, 2007, after Marshall completed anger management counseling.[58]

In the early morning of October 22, 2007, Marshall was arrested in the Denver-Aurora metropolitan area at the intersection of 14th and Blake St. for driving under the influence of alcohol.[59] A trial was scheduled for September 16, but Marshall instead agreed to a plea bargain four days earlier; he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving while ability impaired.[60] He was sentenced to one-year probation and 24 hours of community service.

On June 12, 2008, Marshall was ticketed for an illegal lane change, then found to be without his license and proof of insurance.[61] The case was eventually dropped as part of a plea bargain for the October 22, 2007 driving incident involving alcohol.[60]

According to an article published in the Rocky Mountain News on July 28, 2008, Douglas County deputies fielded "about 11" calls to Marshall's home since January 2006. The article stated that one call resulted in Marshall being arrested (the March 26, 2007 domestic dispute), and some did not involve him at all.[62]

A September 17, 2008 article on CompleteColorado.com stated that the solicitor's office in Fulton County, Georgia filed misdemeanor battery charges on September 10 for an alleged incident on March 4, 2008, in Atlanta, Georgia. Marshall was booked on March 6, then released the next day after posting a $1,000 cash bond.[63] The case was assigned to Judge John Mather in Georgia state court.[64] On August 14, 2009, a jury in Atlanta found Marshall not guilty.[65]

On March 1, 2009, Marshall was arrested in Atlanta for disorderly conduct after allegedly being involved in a fight with his fiancee, Michi Nogami-Campbell. Marshall was released on a $300 bond.[66] The charges were dropped the following day.[67]

No thanks. He's a massive locker room cancer. We should be trying to add more high character guys and leaders - not subtract from them.

Under a cap, certainly no, no cap year yes I can.

It would be for one seasonnwhen Id expect Moss to leave, thus meaning we have the starting #1 still. What happens when as expected Moss leavves in 2011.

I wouldn't mind trading Moss this year if it ment bringing in Marshall

As Kraft said Does he (Moss) not realise he has earned 20m the last two years?! in reply to Moss saying he won't be a PAT after 2010 season.

Get him here & SIGN the Beast! :rocker:

He's got a lot of talent, but also a lot of baggage. Not exactly my first choice for an addition. Would rather go after Vincent Jackson myself if we are going to go after a highest tendered WR.

VJ has issues too.

A perfect fit, let's make this happen BB

We want Brandon Marshall playing next to Moss.

Can you see the look on Rexie if this goes down. He would chunk up the 4 Big Macs and 3 quarters with cheese in a 30 second window.

Jackson has a couple of DUIs. Marshall has multiple occassions of abuse against women. Current testimony has the bullet that killed Darrent Williams actually being meant for Marshall and his cousin. Big difference between the two players.
