"I can tell you, it's not going to be a popular move in the locker room," said one player, speaking on the condition of anonymity. "We loved T.J. The man loved the game and put it all on the line only to get dumped after his best season. I think you should reward players for performance. You dump him but give Vernon (Gholston) another shot? Doesn't make sense."

I heard Damien Woody on NFL radio and he was disappointed but I think the team knows it's a business, and they like what they have in Green. They'll get over it

Get over for sure : like the Pats got over their safety... pretty unpopular for a while though...

I think Green is a good player. They'll be ok. A lot more worried about us to be honest.

I like our RB situation better than theirs for this upcoming season, but after that...who knows?

The Pats may have more bodies currently at RB, but I don't think they're any better than what the Jets have in terms of quality. Most of the Pats RBs are injury prone or old or both. RB is also a need for the Pats this year.

And the Jets players can grumble all they want. I think the Jets were justified in choosing not to give Thomas a rich new contract when they had a young guy in place already who would likely replace most of his production at a much cheaper salary.

I hope he goes to KC... he'd be the perfect counter to JCharles.

Pioli plucked a gem there with Charles for a 3rd round pick. The Pats meanwhile are stuck up with a bunch of veterans over 30 and an injury prone Laurence Maroney.

Pioli was still here when Charles was drafted.

Looks like you're right. I got my time frames mixed up on when Charles was drafted and when Pioli took over. My bad. My point on the state of the Pats RBs still stands. :)

rumor is they are going to bring him back at some point......at least that is what they were saying on mike and mike.......because you are right....the teammates supposedly are not happy with the move.....and interestingly enough, he is not even being talked about by other teams at this point is he? I would rather have him in here than what we have.....Maroney is not the answer long term....and is injury prone, Taylor and Morris are pretty close to cooked.....he would surely be an upgrade......

Whaaaaaaat?

I agree....whaaaaaaatttttttt??????

they have shonn green and leon washington and will most likely bring back Jones and have an exceptional OL......and we have a OL that couldn't hold water and Taylor and Morris who have trouble staying on the field and Maroney.....who is not the answer for this team......I think it is advantage jests

It has been reported that T Jones is flying to KC tommorrow.

why are you guys so obsessed with the Jets??

hmm, why dont we look at him? some pretty good running last 2 years

kinda sputtered towards the end of last year...but it may have been for other reasons

Great question. There is an irrational fear of the Jets by many on this board which does not make sense. The Boston media has adopted them as the next great team, as well. They had the best defense in the AFC last year, but anyone who really looks at their pay-off situation knows that they have a considerable way to go before they're a threat to win the division. They backed into the play-offs (anyone who says they didn't is lying). Their win over the Chargers was admirable, but it did come against the biggest choke outfit since the early 90's Bills. Their coach is a time bomb with a delayed fuse and their QB has yet to prove that he won't turn into a sneaker full of puppy sh!t when the heat gets turned up. Bottom line: they're the Jets and they haven't been to a Super Bowl since Richard Nixon was in his first term of office. Wake me when they're for real.

C'mon son, you should know the answer to that.

As for Thomas Jones, I wouldn't mind seeing him with the Pats. I'd rather have him over Taylor or Morris.

They hate their coach...

I'm with you. Relese Talyor & Morris. Sign Thomas Jones.

He becomes our #1 RB. With Maroney #2.

The Jets are going to try to bring him back. The consensus is that he won't return though since he is upset he got cut before he got his bonus and the Jets refused to give him a new deal eventhough he has been asking for one for a few years. Typically players in this situation go elsewhere even if they get paid less.

The Jets players will get over it if Shonn Greene can carry the load and put up similiar numbers. If the Jets lose Leon Washington and Shonn Greene cannot handle the load as a lead back, then the players could slowly turn on managment. Winning is everything though.
